Am I remembering correctly that your MIL is from AZ? She's not in Phoenix by any chance, is she? I'm headed there for a conference in a couple of weeks, and my colleague and I are trying to find things to do/places to eat downtown during our afternoon off.
Re: *Rock*
Yep, she's in AZ but she's out in retirement land about an hour northwest of Phoenix. Also, she is pretty much the antithesis of a foodie and merely eats to survive. As a result, I unfortunately have basically no recs for you in that area, sorry!
You should post on the Travel board though. Those ladies can be really helpful.
Thanks, anyway!
Did you decide on a birthday dinner place, btw? Are you splurging with L'Espalier?
No we splurged at Salts on their tasting menu instead
The dinner was last night and it was a fun experience. The chef presented us with each of our courses and I enjoyed all of it, though I wouldn't say it was my favorite meal ever. Next time I'll probably order the duck again, just like I always recommend to you all
