s/o what are you getting dh for Christmas?

Since I'm not going to buy him the $1,600 set of headers (or whatever they are) for his car, I have no clue. What are you guys getting your dhs?

Re: s/o what are you getting dh for Christmas?

  • I have a friend that I have just reconnected with. He's an animator here in L.A. and I've commissioned him to draw/paint a picture of DH and me as Superman and Wonderwoman together. We always joke about being those characters; he because the most famous Superman was Christopher Reeve, who ended up in a wheelchair and I because I loved WW since I was a kid. It may not be done in time for Christmas so it may end up his bday gift in Feb. So depending on whether it will be done, I may be getting him something else for Christmas. Not sure what that would be yet.
  • So far J has a short list of video games and DVDs, but that's a staple every year. I'm so tired of buying him movies and video games, but it's like pulling teeth to get him to choose anything else. I'll see if I can get anything out of him.
  • Nada. Well, I'll probably send him a batch of homemade cookies and some kind of sentimental something, but I won't be getting him any "real" presents. For one, he has no use for anything I could get him right now and no place to put anything if I did, and two, we need to pay for a new TV, computer, mattress, week long ski trip, and two week long Thailand/Cambodia trip when we get back home, so... yeah. No Christmas presents for us this year.

Will you guys be together on Christmas?

Those sound like great gifts even if they won't be opened at Xmas. That's what we decided last year and we didn't actually get said gifts until this summer LOL. I do hope you'll be able to be together for the holidays. That's the most important thing. Big Smile

Not this year, but we have Skype at least. :)

I was just in a wedding and the groom is British and the bride is american (my BFF) and his vows:

"we've overcome a lot....distance, time zones, the constant buffering of skype....but i've gained so much, a wife, american citizenship, and the highly sought-after platinum level on british airways, ensuring that no matter where i go, there will always be a lounge i can wait in."

    hooray for skype!

  • I haven't thought about it yet! I think we both need to make lists for this year though.
  • E's birthday is the 29th of November so I have to come up with things for both and he is so dang picky. I have a few ideas of things he wants for his models and some video games. I think I'm going to do some cute stuff for his stocking; our first year married I got a cute idea from somewhere, don't remember where about gifting him with new sexy undergarments for me. He thought it was super funny and loved when I wore them so I might be doing that again this year a long with some silly things. Not really sure.
