We are trying to buy a house. We originally found one we liked, put in an offer, they came back saying they'd only do 3% toward closing costs. We decided that their counter offer didn't suit us, so we walked.
We found a second house we liked, put an offer, it was accepted, great! We had the inspection and appraisal done, spending more than $800 so far. Found out today that the property is not FHA approved and therefore we can't get it since we are doing an FHA loan. Ugh.
So we dropped a bit of money into it by now. Not to mention the $1000 earnest money we put down, which we are hoping we'll get back since we had a mortgage contingency in our contract.
This is such a PITA. We are exactly 3 weeks from the date we were supposed to close, so as you can imagine, we've starting packing, we found someone to buy our trailer, and we gave our trailer park the required 30 days notice. We're hoping that we can talk to the park office tomorrow and explain the situation and they'll be understanding. We'll also have to call our buyer and tell them its not happening now. Luckily on that front there was no money exchanged yet. But still!
All of this because the listing agent mistakenly listed the house as FHA approved!
I'm so disappointed and frustrated. It just can't ever be easy, can it?
