I've lived on the Oregon coast for a few years now, but I keep buying cheap coats that need replaced every year. They're usually not very warm either. So I'm looking for some recommendations. I live in Coos Bay, so it's rainy, windy and freezing. People keep telling me brands, but I'm looking for specific coat reviews. Any favorites?

Re: Oregon Coast Winters
Hi! Are you the nestie that moved here from Hawaii?
My family is from Port Orford. Brr!! Cold and rainy pretty much sums that up!
I love North Face for coats. They have an outlet store in Woodburn if you are ever headed up that way, or you can buy online for full price. Also Mountain Hardware makes good stuff. The North Face coats that I've had for 10+ years still look brand new.
Thanks for the rec! I'm not the one that moved from Hawaii. I moved from Texas though. A friend from here actually made fun of me today because I said I needed a real winter coat this year. Apparently the native Coos Bay-ers don't think it gets cold. Haha. I've been here for a few years now and every year regret not getting a real winter coat instead of super cheap ones from Ross.
Is the outlet store a lot cheaper? I'm wondering if the price of gas to and from would basically be the same as ordering online.
The North Face outlet can be a lot cheaper. Right now all outerwear is 40% off. Most of my cold weather gear is North Face or Columbia (which also has an outlet there). I'm also big on long underwear and Icebreaker has some great base layers.
As you can tell, I the Woodburn Outlets.
