How's your Friday going? What are you up to this weekend?
Re: who's here?
WTH have you been?
It's been a relatively slow week, thank God. Looking forward to a lazy couple of days after the madness of last weekend. I finally found the pumpkin porter I like, so I plan to drink some of those while watching football tomorrow. I'll either be drinking to celebrate or to console myself. Probably the latter.
Kinda sorta here! We are slammed at work. This week has been a total shiitshow, but it's passed quickly, at least.
This weekend I am getting my guest room unpacked and set up - finally! We need to figure out Halloween costumes, or at least a costume for the little dude. Yoga, sleeping in, maybe a little shopping, etc. Nothing much but I'm looking forward to it!
I'm here...and grumpy as hell.
But I just got back from helping DS and his class-- they took all the one and two year olds to the nursing home in their Halloween costumes. ADORABLE. My favorite part was a little butterfly who fell asleep on the way back. Her teacher set her on the floor and her head and her little wings kept bobbing.
But, I've realized that, yes, my kid is a brat.
Ugh - I have had the worst week ever. Developed a medical issue on Monday, saw the doctor on Tuesday who told to wait it out - although my gut told me to go to a surgeon after I saw doctors reaction. I waited it out Tuesday and Wednesday and went to the surgeon's office yesterday to have it removed. It was the most horrible experience ever and so painful. I'm finally "back to work" today for a little bit, but feeling pretty uncomfortable.
Yikes doglove, I'm so sorry. I hope you're on the road to a speedy recovery now.
I'm here, but about to leave to get ready & head to work. The kids have a flag football game at 11, so I want to get to the park early to see it. Days like today I like my job because I'm getting paid to hang out at a park, watch flag football and cheer on our kids.
Thanks guys - I'm definitely feeling a little better. Thank god for Mr. DL though, I don't know how I would have gotten through all that w/out him. He's definitely the best during medical issues.
I'm here. Lallen (the sister who occassionally makes a cameo appearance on TIP) is on her way, as we speak, from West Palm Beach to good ole CT. Lucky her, it's scheduled to snow quite a few inches this weekend. Good thing for a girl who only owns 2 sweaters. But at least she'll finally get some use out of that scarf I knitted her a few years back!
Currently Reading: Don Quixote by Miguel De Cervantes
Not good just because I have had literally NO free time for the past month. First mom came into town, they I had my Salem trip, then lallen is in town this weekend, then next weekend is my exam for work. I'm about 66% of the way through Moby D*ck because I haven't had more than 3 minutes a day to read. A Moby D*ck kind of blows (hardy har har), so I want to be done with it so I can move on to Madame Bovary already. I'm still getting consistent, daily traffic to my blog... so I'm just hoping I can finish Moby D*ck and post my review before I lose people's attention completey.

I hope you're okay, DL.
Tomorrow is pretty busy. Volunteering in the morning and football the rest of the day. I'm going to have to throw a trip to the farmers' market in there somewhere. I don't know how I am going to get it all done! lol.
Sunday is pumpkin carving day. I think we are also going to watch Charlie Brown.
I'm here too. My morning needed it's own post. Everyone ooohing and aahing over mah kid has helped cheer me up though.
And it doesn't hurt that a sales rep dumped some Godiva on my desk while I was at lunch. I love when that happens. She doesn't even know about my morning... it was just a convenient coincidence.
Oh, I've also been the butt of eleventy-billion jokes all.day.long. Anyone who knows my real name (through FB) will probably know what I'm referring to. FML. Is it too late to keep my maiden name or hypenate?

What's the porter?
I think the Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin Ale ended up being my favorite out of all the ones I have had this season.
I'm sort of here.
I've been insane with work today, H's cousin was here this morning, and my furniture is FINALLY being delivered later this afternoon. So I've got an eye on TIP but it's slow!
This weekend, setting up all our bedroom furniture, a big work party on Sat (H's work), and IDK what else!
Starr Hill Boxcar. That was my favorite, followed by the Williamsburg AleWerks [sic]. I'm excited that two local brews beat out the others I tried. I also liked the one I bought at Trader Joe's, though for the life of me I cannot remember the name of it.
After this weekend I'm moving on to a couple of Octoberfests and then the winter lagers. I can't believe those are in stores already.
We are doing this on Sunday too - minus the Charlie Brown aspect. I love that the holidays are starting, this is my favorite time of the year.
Oh no! I hope you're OK. Want me to mail you some pumpkin beer to make you feel better?
DL- I haven't carved a pumpkin in years. I don't know what to do with it!
Bowies- I knew that. I never saw it in the stores to try it.
I really like the winters too. I can't believe it's time for them already. So sad.
Bowies - thanks, I would like a pumpkin beer!
Muddled - I bought a "carving book and tools" set a few years back that have some ideas, but really I just carve the same old tired triangle face with teeth every year. Maybe this year I'll mix it up! I love cooking the pumpkin seeds with salt and pepper in the oven.
