What to plant now for Southern California?

I DON'T have a green thumb. However, I have a new garden bed and would like to plant some winter friendly stuff. (veggies,fruits,edibles...) Any suggestions on what will grow EASY for winter? I live in San Diego, CA. THANKS...

  • I envy your location.  It seems you could plant most things, and I'm sure someone in your area will chime in here.

Just thought you should know that you may have some people pouting at this post.  Me included.  ;) We got our first hard frost last night.  Sad.

Yeah, probably most things. Lucky ducky.

Hit up a decent nursery or urban farmer store and they'll steer you right.

Sometimes I wonder if scientists have never seen a sci-fi movie before. "Oh yes, let's create a super species of deer. NOTHING COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG." I wonder if State Farm offers a Zombie Deer Attack policy. -CaliopeSpidrman
  • Thanks...I'll google it. Sometimes the info is just overwhelming so I thought I'd ask a smaller crowd first.
