I have spent the entire weekend...

cleaning the h-e-double hockey sticks out of my house.  Toothbrush to bathroom tile floor, scrubbed down the baseboards, walls, floors with rags, etc etc...

And then I find out the stupid granite people are coming tomorrow to saw down a portion of our countertops.  I want to bang my head against the wall.  Subcontractor said he will hazmat off the kitchen but no matter what, granite work is always incredibly dusty and nasty. Considering we are having a large party next Sunday, it appears I will spend all next week after work recleaning.

I am not a happy camper.

Re: I have spent the entire weekend...

  • You can come practice for round 2 at my house.  :)  Just kidding, I would be highly irritated too!
  • Yuck.  Maybe look into that cleaning service to come in and do a light clean so you don't have to after they're done?  I bet they'd be able to get it taken care of & less stress for you.

  • Ah man!!! Well, hopefully since you've already done the deep cleaning once, it will be a little easier the second time around? I need to get a toothbrush to my grout...
  • That sucks!!! I would be so mad!

I could find NO ONE that wanted to do it. NO ONE.  And I am serious. As soon as I would tell the person I called that I needed a deep clean because my house had been renovated, they said no way.

It is fine, I LIKE cleaning, I LIKE a clean room and it makes me feel good to clean (and DH was such a sweetie, he was a real trooper) but I don't want to fvcking have to do it twice!

I can't believe that people would actually turn down business!  Are they crazy?! So much potential for a repeat customer and they are turning up their noses.  What bad business sense!

YUP!!  People generally want a cleaning job, though, that is a few hours in and out kind of job, not a job that takes two days, so I guess I get it but it definitely could have turned into repeat business (like, a once a week thing) if they would have done a good job. Oh well!
