Re: PG/Mom Check-In
Congratulations Danielle and good luck to Elaine and Kaley!!!
I have my first u/s this afternoon to check for a heartbeat. I'm at 7 weeks, so they should be able to see something. I had three separate dreams over the weekend that they couldn't find anything on the ultrasound. It's got me a bit freaked out,to say the least, but hopefully it's just a series of bad dreams.

I am still spotting : I have a doctors appointment and US scheduled for this Friday. I am anxious that they won't see anything and this will just be a long, drawn out miscarriage. Fingers crossed that this baby is healthy and I am able to see something on Friday. To say I am nervous is an understatement!
Heather - Good luck today at your appointment
Let us know how everything goes!
Baby Macy is here!

Heather, thinking of you today! Good luck!
Same for you Kathy, but for Friday - try to stay positive!
I had a doc appt last week and everything still looks good. I'm starting to feel the baby move, which is awesome. And weird. But mostly awesome.
My BIG news for the week is that we find out the sex on Friday! I'm so excited, I can hardly stand it. This week is going to draaaaaag! But, my appointment is at 9:30 a.m. on Friday and then I took the rest of the day off work so I can be excited in the privacy of my own home. Or go shopping for baby clothes, whatever. Employee of the year!

I can't believe you ladies are making me wait for your appointments!! Jen, another week??? Mrs Jason, still sending T&P and feeling very positive about your pregnancy! Loska, the cramping was definately normal for me, as long as it's not severe. Aegis, OMG please update us ASAP! MrsMew, hang in there! I know how hard the wait is, I actually called my Dr the day before my a/s and asked if they had any cancellations so I could go in early. I felt like the day would never come! It did
As for me, still a little concerned about positioning but trying not to stress. Taking my mind off of it by eating. I was dealing with unbearable heartburn for a couple weeks and couldn't eat much, but making up for lost time now. Dr had previously suggested Tums, Zantac or Pepcid. They did nothing. She finally gave me the OK to try Prilosec which is like a miracle from Jesus himself! I can eat and sleep again without fear, which is awesome because baby is definately going through a growth spurt. I'm starving constantly. Much more this week than the entire time so far. Luckily I'm only wanting healthy food and not junk. I'm getting huge, I look ridiculous in my work uniform
No news for me either. I am feeling queasy on and off most of the day. I wake up at 5:45 for work and feel pretty bad until about 8:30. I literally have to force myself to eat breakfast because I have no appetite - same goes for dinner - and most food sounds totally unappetizing to me. Which is crazy because I'm such a foodie.
So it's been a little frustrating trying to eat, feeling gross, etc. but I'm hoping it will go away soon. I'm only 9 weeks right now.
Heather - my first u/s was at 7 weeks and we totally could see something - a little bean with a heartbeat. But they had to do the vag u/s for me because it was too hard to see with regular u/s. Good luck!
I had my 1 hour glucose test this morning and still feel crappy. The drink wasn't terrible, but it definitely made me feel queasy and off. I get my results tomorrow, so I'm praying everything is fine. Baby sounded good though and I'm measuring right on target, so that's good. My blood pressure was a bit high, so I'm going back in 2 weeks to check it again. I've been super stressed out though, so I'm hoping that's it.
My baby shower is in Florida this Saturday. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone, but not thrilled about flying
I have to do my glucose test at my next appt (in 4 weeks), and I'm nervous about the drink! My doc told one of the nurses to get him "a grenade" to give me, referring to the drink...so that doesn't sound good!
Can I ask how you're handling gifts at your shower? Did you ask people to send things to your home address and then just do something else at the actual shower? Or do you have a way to get gifts home? I'm not sure I'm even having a shower yet but I know if I do it will be in FL, but I'm not sure how to work the whole "getting gifts from FL back to NY" thing.

H and I brought our big suitcases and fit what we could in them. We knew my mom and sister would be down at least once before the baby was born and once the baby was born they would be driving down. They brought the rest of the stuff down with them when they came to visit. It worked out perfectly!
Sooo happy to hear this!!! I have heard alot of people say that when they are so tiny, its hard for them to get a super accurate size. 1mm in either direction is so much! So happy you got to hear the heartbeat!!!
That is so annoying that they didn't call you back. I've had this issue with doctors in the past and it's really irritation.
I've heard a few schools of thought on progesterone. Some doctors like to have their patients due injections, because with injections the progesterone gets into the blood stream and they can get a better "view" of how much progesterone is in your blood.
The other school of thought I've heard about is that using suppositories are a better option, because it releases the progesterone into the uterus, which is where you want it to be. The "problem" with the suppositories, however, is that the progesterone doesn't get into your blood stream, and so it's harder to tell how much is actually being absorbed.
I haven't heard any "thoughts" on an oral pill.
I switched over to the suppository format last week, and my RE mentioned that they put me on the max doseage because additional progesterone couldn't hurt anything. They said they'd only change my doseage if I was having some type of adverse reaction. They also mentioned they wouldn't be doing additional P4 blood work because it wouldn't tell them anything.
I guess what I'm trying to say is they may not have checked your P4 level because the bloodwork may not have provided then with an accurate picture. Of course, my doctors thoughts could vary from yours, but it would be worth a discussion with them as to why they aren't doing blood work and where your doseage stands in terms of minimum and maximum standard doseages.
Good luck on Friday!!

I asked my mom to tell people I would prefer big stuff shipped if they asked. If I get something I can't bring home easily, I plan to return it at the BRU there and re-buy it when I get home. So far though, no one has bought anything from the registry, so it may not even be an issue...
Good luck, Aegis and Kathy!
My girls are doing good. In 2 weeks, DD1 will be 2. Where did the time go? DD2 is trying to crawl now. She gets on her hands and knees and rocks back and forth. It's funny to watch her get frustrated when she can't move forward. She's also now sitting up on her own for a few seconds. It feels like she's trying to do all these milestones all at once. Since she'll be 6 months on the 3rd, we're gonna start introducing solids, which I'm excited about.
Here's a pic of my girls yesterday in their Halloween garb:
Alana has been going on the potty a lot lately and now tells me when she has to go. We don't always make it on time, but I think it is great that she is showing so much interest!
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to stop a toddler from throwing food on the floor? I have no idea how to make it stop. I feel like I've tried everything from ignoring her to scolding her.
Mrs. Jason - I hope your spotting stops already. Good luck Friday, hope the week flies by for you.
Mrs. Mew - Congrats on finding out the sex Friday, how exciting!
Loskadoodle - That is exactly how I was in the beginning. I never did throw up, thank goodness and knock on wood! Also, like Aegis said, our REs office only checks the progesterone once, hope her more in depth explanation helps! Good luck Friday!
Sara - Glad you're feeling better! I had horrible heartburn early on, hoping I got it out of the way and won't have anymore...yeah right, I'm sure, lol.
Aegis - Congrats on hearing the h/b, it is such a wonderful moment. I hope your next appt goes well!
Etteyam - Your girls are adorable!
Floridamom - That's great that you're painting the nursery and rec'd baby stuff from your neighbors, sorry about your "stop" on the way to work, ick.
You are due the day before me!
I had my 1 hour test on Friday and got the dreaded call that I just "slightly failed" yesterday. Booo! So, now I have to take the oh-so-fun 3 hour test, which I am completely pouting about.
I guess I have a serious sweet tooth because I downed the drink in just a few big gulps and didn't even flinch. I've had the 3 hour one before and that is a different story! I'm looking forward to getting to know you all more. Enjoy your shower!
est. 10/10/10
I'll be 20 weeks on Friday and I go for yet another u/s to check up on some things from my u/s at 16 weeks. This will be my 6th, so I am getting to see this little babe quite a bit!
I think I am feeling her move sometimes. It is this weird kind-of feeling that I never had until a week- week and a half ago, so I am guessing that's what it is!
I am feeling pretty good. Very tired, but that's really my only complaint!
I gained a pound this week, which is a suprise since I gained like 3 the week before!
That's nice that you were able to take off! Will H be off too?
I had some cramping when I was around 5 weeks too. I also had to eat immediatly after getting out of bed. And started to feel sick around 4-5 pm nightly! Hopefully it will all go away soon, mine did.
I guess I missed a post...what is going on with the baby's positioning?
Are you hating foods that you usually love? I still don't even want to think of some foods that were just a few months ago my favorites!
They do the internal u/s till week 12 I think it is. The other ones are much more fun!
