I was hoping I get get some ideas from you ladies.
H will be back for a small vacation in a few months and he wants to take a small trip somewhere, that is kid friendly. The only places I can think of are Disney. We thought about a cruise but decided that might be a little much on the bank after birthdays and holidays (from Oct-Jan someone has a bday or there is a major holiday).
So I am looking to you for help? Any thoughts
Re: Needed some help/ideas
We are smack dab in the middle of the US, and we looking to stay under $3000. I thought about Branson since its not far away but there is not much to do in the cold besides Dixie stampede.
I wouldn't, but I'm from MO and Branson has totally lost it's luster for me. What about driving to CO? Or even Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge? It's Branson-esque but prettier, IMO.
I agree that Gatlinburg would be great. I love how it is decorated in the winter. There are plenty of things for little people. Also, nearly every buisness in town has great military discounts. We saved a ton of money up there with discounts.
We rented a cabin through this place. It was far less expensive than a hotel room. We had more space. Our kids had a yard to play in. We were only 5 minutes from town. We ate breakfast in our cabin every morning. We usually either came back to the cabin for lunch or packed a picnic. We ate most dinners out but had a few back at the cabin. Our cabin was fully stocked and very clean. They offer great deals all year long.
There is an aquarium there that is great. My kids loved it and we got a great deal with the mil discount. All 6 of us went in for less than the cost of one regular ticket. They also have Dollywood (go in after 3 and get in free the next day), Dixie Stampede, several live show theaters, go carts, many hiking trails, water falls, and a ton more. We love the area.
I have been there I went back in highschool and liked it. We would have to fly because my youngest wouldnt do that well in the car for that long. I will look into this. The only problem with the rates come the end of this month we will no longer be a military family. (H is currently on terminal leave). Thanks for the info.
