Poll: Best money spent

What is something that you have bought that you got a lot of good use out of.

*sorry for the clunky sentence. I almost used the word "gotten" in the sentence and I knew that wasn't right. That threw me off and I could't figure out the best way to word the question.

Re: Poll: Best money spent

  • Three years ago, we bought a pink poodle costume on clearance for $5 at Toys R Us. Allison wore it two years ago and then Amelia wore it the next year. She loves pretending to be a puppy and the costume still fit her, so she is wearing it again this year. $5 for three years of costumes - Sweet!

I spent about 1.5 hrs driving around town trying to find clearance costumes yesterday with no luck. Retailers do a good job at ordering just the right amount (and Americans like to shop)

  • I'd have to say the king bed we bought about a month ago. It is AWESOME.
  • My Droid in terms of organization

Our Hondas in terms of little need for repairs ($) and reliability (life)

My boob pump in terms of saving money :-)  Wish I could think of something more common but I'm drawing a blank!

  • My very inexpensive plastic-carafe blender (had to be at most $30). I've used that thing nearly daily for the past two years, and we've had it much longer than that.
  • $120 Sedu flat iron. I love that thing!

  • In general, I feel like the best money I ever spent was college tuition.  My earning potential increased dramatically after earning my degree, I didn't over-borrow and no one can ever take away what I learned.

We'll see if I feel the same way about law school.

  • Jinx's health.  We've put a lot of time, effort, and money into keeping her little heart beating.  I know a lot of people give us the side-eye on it ("You take your cat to a cardiologist?!?!?!"), but it's worth it to us.  She's a joy.

  • My $8 flea market nylon strings guitar.  I learned to play on it, and took it to Georgia with me.  I found myself in a band, and someone gave me a much nicer replacement (anon. gift*).  A lot of fun, and stress reduced with that guitar.

    *Isn't that crazy?!

  • A disclaimer...I was thinking very short term and on the small scale for my answer.  The dog costume hasn't been my greatest purchase of all time.  hee hee.

Ha, I know mine was on another level.  That's just always the first things that comes to my mind.  Smile

  • I bet you could guess for me - The dogs. :-) G was free but Toby actual cost a few bills.  Both worth every penny we ever spend on them.

OMG!  Yes!  Our dog Houston  She's worth every single penny we spent on her.  I love her so much, and she brings so much joy to our family.

  • I'm going to go with my camera gear - I love being able to capture our family's memories.  And having a bajillion pics of Ben to torture him with when he's an adult :)
