Mom Nesties

Henry has a well child checkup tomorrow, and he is not well.

If it were your little one, would you reschedule, or keep it?  I know that we might have to reschedule his shots (buddy's got a fever).  Dr. B is difficult to get into, and I don't want this appt. to go much more past his b-day than it already is.

Re: Mom Nesties

  • I'd keep it.  You might end up there anyway if he isn't feeling well.  And just like you said, be prepared for the shots to get rescheduled.

  • keep the appt and call now to reschedule his shots.. If you  had to can also get them from the Health dept, although they don't bill insurance companies. You could always check to see if you could pay out of pocket and mail it receipt.

It might not be a bad idea to get him checked out to make sure he isn't anything beyond a cold.

  • I would call and tell them H is not well.  They might want to see him anyway, and they might suggest you reschedule.

  • Like the others said - keep the appointment & reschedule the shots (what shots are at 3? I should probably be prepared. LOL!). With his cough & being clingy that's a good time to get him checked out to make sure it's "just a cold".

  • And I don't know about your doctor's office but if we reschedule shots, we just go in for a nurse visit. Those are pretty easy to come by at our doctor's.

  • Knowing Dr. B's schedule and the fact that you don't want to push the appt any further out, keep it and reschedule the shots.  It won't hurt to have the little guy checked out anyway.  Hope he's feeling better soon.

  • Keep it. "Well" child doesn't necessarily mean they have to be well when they are seen. It's a doc's office, kwim?

All they did at C's 3-yr appt was height, weight, eyes, ears, and some other random physical things. The only shot he got was a flu shot, at my request.

  • Thanks, pals.  I'm keeping the appt, and I'm not calling ahead.  I've had some frustrations with the nurses, and I don't want to call and explain, only to tell us not to come at all.  If we need to reschedule shots, I'm sure it won't be too hard to get on the schedule with the nurses.  GVSU, did Mia have a few shots last month?

Mia didn't get any shots, she would have had the flu shot but I already had the appt with the health dept for their shots.  We are all set with shots until next year. There are a few that Allison could have had at age four but she could also wait until kindergarten which we decided to do.
