How was your anniversary?! PIP heavy

Matt and I had such a fantastic anniversary yesterday, how was yours? I hope everyone else had (and is having?) a great one!  What paper present (or clock?) gift did you guys exchange?  (or did you not follow this tradition?) I know some of you travelled, how was it?

For our anniversary, we decided not to go camping.  Instead, matt and I slept in, and had brunch at home--muffins, fruit and cappuccinos. In the afternoon we took our camera down to the river, spend 30 min playing around in the leaves and took some photos.  Then went out for supper at a fancy restaurant Matt had secretly made reservations for. Then we went on a haunted walking tour of our city! We were led by lantern around our neighbourhood and read haunted tales about specific homes and buildings.  We were horrified to learn there were spooky stories about the very building we're living in, and the old hospital across the street.

When we got home, we drank our anniversary wine, ate our top tier (ewwww..... that did NOT turn out...), lit our candle, watched our wedding slideshow and exchanged gifts.  Matt loved his gift of maps, and his gift made me cry.  Quick back story:  Matt and I decided not to write vows for each other for the wedding, and said the traditional ones instead.  We both just felt like they were too personal to be read out loud for everyone.  For our paper anniversary, Matt wrote vows for me, and even put it on our wedding invitation themed paper.  I cried like a baby when I read them.

I got the camera strap in the way a few times, but I still like them.

  • Your pictures are beautiful and I love what you guys did, so romantic! How fun it would be to take a ghost tour! Do you have little wooden blocks for every year? I love that idea! You make me want to take some fall pictures :)

Our anniversary was fun, we drove up to OR and stayed in Ashland, it was a great time with great food, wine, weather, and guy ;)  Adam and I did not go traditional, I bought him the bbq he has been eyeing for a year, and he bought me a 3 tier fountain for our backyard. I love it!  (total shock, we have a joint account, but he saved a bonus check from work)!

We ate our cake on Sunday night (a bite) eww. Oh, and before the cake I jumped in my wedding dress for an hour. It felt so different to be in it again and to really look at the dress and not any other details just.the.dress. Adam said "you look like Cinderella", lol hardly, but it was cute he said that.

I don't have a picture yet, but we did take a few cute ones. Can you pip from an iphone?

The wooden block is just from the 1 from our address wreathe I made a while back.  We were walking out the door, I saw it, snatched it, and ... haven't put it back yet.  :D

I love that you put your dress on!  I'm totally doing this next year!  It sounds like you had an awesome anniversary.  Congrats!

  • How romanitic. The only paper exchanged was my card for him. He got roses a few days before our anniversary for me. We did not exchange gifts. We went to the beach for a nice Sunday breakfast buffet. Unfortunaley it was one of a couple of days all year it has rained, so no walk on the beach after eating.
