Am I worrying too much?
we are moving by the end of the year, so I need to find a new daycare for Genna
I found one that I like, but it's right off a main road (sort of like a highway - it's quite busy).
It's totally safe - big brick walls between them & the road
but I can't help worrying about it being so close to a main road & the associated pollution she'd be breathing in all day from the cars.
I'm going out that way again tomorrow to see if I can find any other daycares that I like that aren't on a main road
but WDYT? would it be a concern for you? She will be spending 4 days a week there.... and I KNOW they are only outside for a few hours a day, but still.... they breathe the same air when they are inside
It does have a GREAT outdoor space though - just SUCH a shame about the location ![]()
part of the reason we are moving further from the beach is to have green space (we'll have a nice big yard!!) so I'd like her to be at a daycare that has that too - lots of great outdoor space. This place DOES have it - it's just right by that road....
Re: Do you worry about pollution?
yea good point - thanks
fingers crossed I find a good place NOT on a main road tomorrow
*sigh* I like the daycare she's at now SO much.... so it's hard to find something else that lives up to the same expectations
but surely one must exist!!! I have another 6 to look at tomorrow then that about exhausts all the places in our area
but it IS something I'd worry about - and you're right - I wouldn't want that going through my mind every time I pick her up or drop her off......
thanks for the input ladies
I actually found one today that I like WAY more, and the road it's on isn't nearly as busy (not a highway), and the play area is at the back away from the road, and more importantly I like the centre MUCH more!!!
it's amazing! and since she's going to be spending a few days a week there til she goes to kindergarten it was super important to me to find a great place - now I just need to convince the director to find space for her!!!
