Anyone live in Greensboro NC
I live in the Triangle now. Next fall my boyfriend will be going to UNC Greensboro for his masters.
What do you like/dislike about Greensboro?
Re: Anyone live in Greensboro NC
I went to UNCG for both my undergrad and masters programs, and lived there for 8 years. I still live just outside of Greensboro. The only thing I didn't like about Greensboro was that no matter where you lived, during the course of the year-lease, the demographics would completely change in the apartment complex. There are definitely areas to avoid (as there are anywhere) and I wouldn't try and live too close to campus. I love the Friendly Center. It's one of the best places, and possibly THE best, in Greensboro to go shopping. I still enjoy going downtown, even just for dinner, and the summer time is great downtown with festivals, regular events in center city park, and the Greensboro Grasshoppers games.
If you have any questions, feel free to message me.
I grew up in Greensboro and lived there for a few years after college. I still go back a lot because that's where my best friends and family are. It's a nice city with a mix of a family and college feel.
I think for me I wouldn't want to be single at my age and living in Greensboro and that's one of the reasons when I moved back from Boston I moved to the Durham/ Raleigh area instead of back home.
I really like the area of Greensboro around Friendly shopping center and the northwest part of town. If you have any specific questions let me know.
We live in Greensboro. We moved here so DH could go to grad school and we determined that we liked it enough to settle down and buy a house.
In addition to some of the things pps mentioned, I like that we can get to a lot of places relatively easily. The mountains, beach, wine country, Charlotte and the Triangle can all be day trips if you wish.
I am a big college basketball fan, especially the ACC (go Duke!), so GSO is a great town to live in for that. The Coliseum often hosts the ACC tourney and early round NCAA tourney games.
I love that it only takes me 15-20 min to get to work and I live on the other side of town from my office.
There are a lot of parks and green space, so if you are into outdoor activities there are a variety of options.
Is there anything specific you want to know?
Depends on the field. What field are you looking into?
Hi, I actually just moved to greensboro too, from MO. I am looking for a job too. We moved for my DH job, and we don't know anyone!!!
I am looking for a job event planning or in arts/entertainment field. That is what I went to school for.
If anyone knows anyone, or any professional organizations I am really looking to get involved, and meet people!
Thanks
