Another Halloween poll: how old is too old to ToT?

By the time you're in high school, you should not be trick or treating IMO. Don't you have anything better to do?

Re: Another Halloween poll: how old is too old to ToT?

  • I agree.  If you have a job you're too old.  Also, if you're "too cool" to wear a costume you're not getting any of my candy.

Hell no! I hate those punkass kids!

  • I think if your a teenager, no trick or treating for you.

  • I ToT'ed as a teenager (13 is too old? really?) and I think through sophomore year of high school.  I didn't have a job and wore a costume, so I guess it was alright.
  • I should have clarified, costume equals candy.

  • I don't care how old as long as you have a legit costume (wearing a lame mask or squirting fakr blood on your tshirt doesn't count). If you are 90 in a gorilla suit, bring it. I TOTed till sophomore or junior year of HS. And I am confused by the insinuation that walking around in costume with friends getting free candy isn't the most awesome way to spend one's time... Lol

  • I ToT'd in high school but I usually took my brother. I don't think I dressed up in high school so any candy I got was just a bonus for taking the little bro.

  • I don't think HS is too old as long as you're dressed up. I don't get the big deal.
  • My 30+ y/o CW just admitted to Trick or Treating with her kid last night. She said people asked if she was serious & she told them yes.

    Hmm

  • So if they're older & not dressed up enough for you, do you actually tell them no? Lol Really? I don't really care. The older kids always come later so as long as I know the little ones have been taken care of it's fine with me. Last year we actually ran out and there were a few little ones & a few teenagers. I gave the last few pieces to the little ones & said sorry to the teens. They were cool & understood.

    Hmm

So her child had his/her treat bag and she had her own and expected people to fill hers too?  DH and I took DD trick or treating, but we definitely didn't have our own bags!

Quite a few people did this in our neighborhood too. Sometimes I notice a really young child back w/the other parent in a wagon or something so I assume they're grabbing some for them. I also know that there have been a few who are doing it for a little one who is stuck home sick, but yeah...clearly not the case w/CD's co worker.
