Re: IN Get Fit Challenge!

  • Things are going ok here!  I'm down a solid 15 from where I started, but I seem to be stalling at this stage.  I need to watch what a eat a bit better, and probably add in another workout each week.

QOTD:  I was in amazing shape my first semester in law school.  I was eating super healthy and running regularly, and it really showed!  Then, I got sick and it all when to crap.  Sigh...now clawing my way back to where I was!

  • 4 pounds to go!

QOTD: In the days leading up to my half marathon when I was actually doing long runs for the first time ever. Also, immediately after my half marathon, when I actually, finally finished and they said my name as I crossed the finish line. Then I ate a Mars bar.

  • Afraid to weigh myself after this weekend of crazy eating and drinking but I'm proud to be back on the spin bike!

QOTD: I was in amazing shape for my wedding, before that I was super skinny and buff junior year of college, before I went abroad and ruined it all :P

  • Apparently I've reached my goal. I did some shopping and I'm now a size 12, and a size small (10-12) which I've no memory of being in my adult life before. I was swimming in my size 16s, never dreaming of being a 12 but am slowly coming around to the idea. I checked, double and triple checked the labels as I was trying clothes on. Lol. I went in trying to find inspiration jeans and came home with 7 pieces, all size 12.

I still have a bit more to lose as I have belly flab to tackle I'm 22lbs down and would like to be a small size 10 by Christmas which is probably another 15lbs.

Running has been great and I can now run 10 miles without stopping and joining a new gym today to give my knees a break a few days a week.

QOTD: I feel my best right now especially after a workout and shopping is dangerously fun again. :)
  • Meggers and Loopy... you guys are so inspirational!

Well, I'm back on the wagon after a crappy few months and have gained 7 lbs :-( Have rejoined online Weight Watchers and will be walking daily (can't do anything else until my nerves heal from my surgery). So I guess my new goal is back to losing 50lbs. Not really putting a time frame or anything on it, I just really want to feel healthy again.

I was thinnest at about 21 but that was from my diet of cigarettes and diet coke so I can't say I felt super awesome. About 7-8 months ago, I was at my lightest adult weight (size 14s) and jogging 3-4 times a week and generally feeling great about where I was going. Then it all went wrong but I remember feeling like that and am determined to get back!

  • QOTD:  I was in amazing shape before I tore my ACL in my early 30s.  I was fit, fast and looked great & felt great.  Best of my life to be honest.  I also felt quite great when I moved over here...I had lost all the weight I had gained after getting my surgery, was working out and felt great.  I'm hoping that in 9 months I'll be back to that fit and fab feeling!

  • Onesly, my bad on not really updating this, lol, but I'm not going to be in the NYC marathon next weekend.  Aiming now for next year.  Between work and being tired, I've had zero chance of training nor the dedication.  For now, I'd be happy with waking up every morning and going to the gym.  Period.

QOTD: I actually feel pretty great now.  I'm not in my best shape, but I'm very happy with my body, in general.  My diet is pretty balanced.  Aside from now, I felt my very best when I was in the Air Force and going to the gym six days a week.  I was 15lbs heavier, but it was all muscle.
