OL Tuesday

Dear "Professor Snape",

I don't think that Muggles really need lessons on trick or treating.  After all, as a Muggle, he's probably done it before.  You both looked to be over 20 so you both got one piece of candy and it was the stuff that I didn't like.  Whoppers.

Dear Teenagers,

Just being yourself is not a costume.  You got Whoppers too.

    This bugged me too.

     Dear Trick or treaters,

I loved loved seeing you last night! That was so much fun. I'm glad we got so many kids and I was giddy everytime the door bell rang. If you didn't see on fb the best quote of the night was from a mom who told me I had a passed out hotdog in my lawn. You don't hear that everyday. DH suprised me with these blow up decorations he bought... He knows I love have decorations and we are going today to get more for next year!

    Dear ladies who use FAM,

Are you finding that your temps have changed a bunch as the weather has been changing like crazy.  I have had temps like 96.4 one day then 97.8 the next then back to 96.1 and then back to 97.4.  I am trying to figure out if its weather, sleep, or just my body trying to adjust this first month off of BC.

    -Puzzled me

I haven't had this problem. It might be your body adjusting. Also are you taking your temp at the same time everyday? Are you getting continuous sleep? Any changes between those days like working out late or alcohol consumption?

I take it at 5:15am everyday even on the weekends I wake up long enough to take it then go back to sleep.  I have had a couple of rough nights sleeps so that could be it but no difference in working out and no alcohol.  I have noticed that on the lower temp days that I wake up noticably colder thats why I thought it might be the weather.

  • I enjoyed the Trick or Treaters too!  One mom grabbed a moderate handful for her kid, then a dig-you-hand-in-three-times-to-get-as-much-as-possible handful for herself.  I was just amazed.  I loved seeing the littlest kids - every time I'd go interrupt James' tv watching to tell him how cute each one was.  Crispin loved the visitors too!

BL - I had a problem with my first thermometer, the Walgreens brand.  I felt like it was all over the place.  I also frequently doze back off while temping, and if I'm not careful to keep my mouth closed, then my temp will be super low.  My current one beeps every second or so, so I don't go fully back to sleep, so I can concentrate on keeping my mouth closed better.

Speaking of taking temps... the other day, I was half asleep and my brain wasn't working well enough so I thought my thermometer wasn't working - so I kept pushing it a bunch and making it beep, for probably a solid minute, before taking my temp.  James informed me later, You are going to have to get that thing figured out, or buy a new one, I don't care which!  It was pretty funny :)

  • OMHs,

This was my first year not living in an apartment.  I bought two ginormous bags of candy.  I wore my witch hat.  We had 3 trick or treaters.  :(

    -Halloween is my favorite holiday

  • Lacey -

We had three visitors, too. Granted, we live out in the country... but this was still the lowest year ever. We gave the last little girl the entire bag of candy, because I certainly don't want it in MY house.

    - We love Halloween too!

    OMHs,

I had Mack take a picture of me on the first morning of boot camp. This morning, at the 2 month mark, I took another one. NOW I'm excited.

We didnt get any trick or treaters either, because we live in an apartment too. DH had a major headache, so he wasnt up for handing out candy anyway. :(

  • Dear Nesties-

I'm thinking about putting up my Christmas tree today. Is that crazy? Last year I put it up around this time, and it just looked awesome!

PLEASE COME FIX OUR HOT WATER PROBLEM! This is ridiculous! Fix it, or we're moving out!

I love you. I have a very bad addiction to you. But I will be seeing you again on Friday!

  • Ladies who didn't get trick or treaters,

I'm sorry! We had this happen last year. That's why I was so excited this year.

    Chelsea,

Awesome!! Those before and after pictures are totally worth taking! They make a huge difference. I'm glad you are seeing the results of your hard work! Keep it up.

  • Dear Lacey,

That stinks, I hope next year is better for you.

    Dear Chelsea,

YAY! The pictures are usually what does it for me too.  I am so excited that you can see the changes, does this mean you will continue to stick with it?

Yep. We're definitely going to keep going. Bootcamp is outside, so I was worried about what we'd do when it got cold, but we just got permission to use the community center when the weather gets bad, so we're good to go!

  • Dear Trick or Treaters,

We had so much fun last night!  My best friends twins were absolutely the cutest Butterfly and Dragon!  They are 2 1/2 and oh so precious.  I can't wait to have my own lil trick or treater one day.

~Nestie loving nesting in a neighborhood

    Dear Dairy products,

I miss you immensely and it's only been less than 2 days.  I am on a low iodine diet for 2 weeks to get ready for my radiation pill treatments.  It's going to be tough, but I know I can do it!

~Dairy lover and well a lover of a bunch of other stuff I can't eat

    Dear Self,

    Screw on your head today!

    ~Loopy Nestie

    Dear Chelsea,

Keep up the good, hard work!!  I'm sure you look amazing!

  • Girls who are scared of TMI look away - BL this is my chart for this month, I seem to be a little erratic since the cold weather too.

I was at school and didn't get home until 9:30, so sadly I missed all the TorT-ers. I love seeing their little costumes, so it is a big bummer for me.

I posted the pic of our costumes on FB, so 95% of you saw it but here it is for those who didn't. It's a terrible pic but for some reason all we took:

Randall has a video of me doing the "Cupid Shuffle" while wearing the box and I fell out laughing while watching it. :) Just FYI - 10 pounds of wine and dancing make for sore shoulders.

  • Leslie, that costume is hilarious!!!

Will someone tell me how to PIP? I'd like to share the before & after here... I'm not quite confident enough to put it on FB yet, but I'd like to show SOMEONE. And I trust you girls not to call me a fatty after all my hard work. :)

  • Dear rollerblading-

Be kind to me tonight.  I'd like to see another day.

    Dear Nesties-

Excuse the word vomit but I'll try to make this short.  I'm thinking about going back to school; it seems like the popular thing to do on the board so why not?!  I kid, I kid.  You've been an inspiration, honestly Yes

Originally it was for a 2nd Bach in Social Work at either UNT or TWU but then DH pointed out that if it's going to take me 2 years to do that, I should look into getting my Master's, which was my original plan in the beginning but that got delayed.  The only game in town for a Master's in SW is UTA [commute No] and they have a dual degree plan that I could possibly do.  Plus there is no way I could work full time and go to UTA although they now offer a couple of the courses online.  If I did a 2nd Bach., I could still work for about half of it.

There are pros and cons for both of course and I've been pondering them as I wouldn't be able to truly start anything until Fall 2012.  If I did 2nd Bach. I could possibly take some of the pre-major courses in Spring (they would have to be at night, on Saturday's or online so I could continue working) so that I wouldn't be delayed even more.  The application deadline for UTA is June something plus I  have to take the GRE, which scares me, and factor that into my timing as well.

It could also delay baby making by 3 years, which makes DH a little sad so I'm trying to find middle ground somewhere.  But the payoff for him would be being a SAHD if I were to find a job that could fully support us so he's excited at that prospect.  When we originally bought our house, our plan was to rent out a room since we have the space but never got around to it so we may be doing that sooner than later, which means redoing their bathroom.  I'm a little sad that my UG student loan won't be paid off in a year but it seems worth it.

Jaymi - If you decide to go to grad school PLEASE look into UTA. They are the process of applying for Tier One designation and are in BAD need of more people to complete graduate degrees to make this happen. Due to this need the coffers are plentiful and open in many of the majors they need degrees sought in. Many of the programs are offering fellowships, which means not only free school but also money to live on that does not have to be paid back. This might be your middle ground. Check it out! - Leslie

Chelsea - If the pic is already on the internet you can just copy and paste it here. If not you will need to upload it to a place like photobucket and then click the button with the tree at the top next to the smiley face, enter the "direct link" provided by photobucket and hit okay.

  • Leslie - I love the costume, and I want to see the video!

Jaymi - Would the Masters be better than the 2nd Bach for getting the type of job you want?  That would be another possible benefit to that route, it seems like...

Nesties - I have to get my butt in gear.  I've been piddling for the last two weeks, and now I have to get a project done by Friday, and it's not an easy one.  Be very boring for the rest of the week so I'm less tempted to be on here all day, so I can focus on working hard :)

  • Dear Danielle,

    It's too early.  Please don't.

  • Whew. Breathe breathe breathe. Here it is.

In the first picture, that's just how the shirt fits me. I'm not holding it tight. In the "after" picture, it's the same shirt, just in a different color. I'm holding it tight with my hand to the side, to show that my waist is smaller.

I agree.  Let's let Thanksgiving happen first.

    - Nestie who likes celebrating holidays by themselves  :)

  • Chelsea - that is FANTASTIC!!!!  Such a difference girl, way to go!  I also love the difference in the way you're carrying/projecting yourself - you go from kind of sad & blah (Do I haaaave to??)  to pumped & proud (Heck yes, I just did!!), and I love that!

Tiffany, are your judgy pants on?  Because I'm listening to Christmas music on Pandora!  Disclaimer: If Thanksgiving had theme music, I'd listen to it, but it doesn't, so bring on the Christmas tunes :)

  • Awesome job Chelsea! I love your "seriously???" face in the before picture. It makes for a perfect before/after comparison.

  • Angie - Yes my judgy pants are on!  Haha.   If you want to listen to music, that's cool with me.  Just don't hang your lights and put up your tree where I can see it.  :)

I don't want your Christmas throwing up on my Thanksgiving.  :-p

I have previously NEVER been a morning person. The first morning of boot camp, I didn't speak. At ALL. But now I really enjoy getting up and watching the sunrise. Today's picture was taken right AFTER the workout, and I'm all happy. :) It's really a dramatic change of spirit as much as anything.

I really appreciate y'all's encouragement. I'm excited for the picture on Dec. 1st now!
