How do you go from N.OKC to Norman?
I usually take Kilpatrick to I-235/Broadway Extn, but for the past couple of days it has been seriously delayed and is making me late. I know there were several wrecks on it yesterday...was anyone else on the Broadway Extn trying to go south this morning about 7:30? Did you encounter that huge tangle between, say, Wilshire and the I/44 junction? It took me 45 minutes to get through that (and yet the announcement board thing said it would only take 15 minutes...don't get me started...). Anyway, I can't keep doing this...it's only been two days of this and it's making me crazy. Does anyone have a better way? I'm all ears!
Re: How do you go from N.OKC to Norman?
I was driving the other way on 44 and saw that mess. I hate to break it to you, but I've been taking that way (northbound) for over a year, and I see it a mess like that a LOT. Probably once a week on average.
Where in Norman are you going, and where approximately are you coming from? You could always take I-44 west towards Lawton and either go through Newcastle to hop on Hwy 9, or get onto 240 and take that to 35. Otherwise, streets like Western go all the way down to Norman, so you could do that (just take 44 down to 104th or 119th and then go east to Western, or exit Western on 240). I generally prefer taking those roads down there instead of hopping on highways. Much more pleasant drive.
If you're coming from NEOKC, you could avoid 235 and just hop on 35.
Good luck! I feel your pain with the commute and traffic--I drive from SWOKC to Edmond everyday. It sucks.
my bookshelf!
Bloggy
A co-worker of mine takes Sooner from Norman to OKC sometimes, too. Maybe that's a good alternative?
Hefner parkway/44 south to 240, 240 east to 35, then south to Norman. Avoids the downtown traffic for the most part.
This is the way we go.
