XP: I had my kitty put down this morning :-(

Our Halloween went from a high to real low.

Long story short, my kitty's been in end stage kidney failure for several months, but had been doing pretty well until the last few weeks. Last night she had a seizure and it took a big toll.

After her seizure last night she finally fell asleep peacefully curled up in her kitty "igloo" bed. Part of me was praying that she would go on her own, but she woke up this morning, wouldn't eat, and couldn't walk out of her bed. I took her to the vet and they helped me assess our options. It wasn't much of a struggle, once I saw how she had failed and was unable to use her hind legs, and possibly mostly blind. I was able to hold her for a long while in my arms and she passed away very peacefully. RIP my sweet Veronica, it was a wonderful 16 years together. My heart is so heavy today.
