Lovestrine Fe

Has anyone ever used this birth control pill? And have you noticed that it helped change your libido for the better?

Re: Lovestrine Fe

  • I think you mean "Loestrine" not "Lovestrine". I was on Loestrine for a long time, and I believe now I'm on the generic version of it (I think). It didn't do anything for my libido, and I've never had a good libido. Sorry! You can try looking up reviews on google--there are always tons of them for all the different kinds of birth control pills.
  • I'm on the generic version (was on name brand became too pricey.)  Does nothing for me either way. I just like that it doesnt give me massive mood swings.

TriSprintec (Ortho TriCyclin) made me moody and hormonal not to mention killer cramps.

  • I think my libido was about the same. I do like that it gives me REALLY short periods - sometimes only a day or two and super light.
  • I am on Loestrin Fe 24 now. I've been on and off it for a few years.

I have not noticed a decline in libido, which is something I've heard other people complain about on some pills.

I like the short periods. Because of that, it minimizes the migraines associated with getting my period. I'm also cramping for less time and only have a day or so of feeling really emotional.

  • I have been on loestrin 24 fe a month and a half now and so far I love it. It gave me a very light period, just 2 days instead of my regular 7! I hope the price does not go up anytime soon because so far it is great. I have been using the discount card that my doc gave me which makes it only $24 per refill. Anyone know if they will have another card in 2012?

  • You can get the generic form with most insurances for 10$.  It is the same (I have used both with exactly the same results mood/period wise).

  • I am on Loestrin 24 fe.  I briefly tried the generic loestrin but did not like how it extended my periods and made pms symptoms worse.

  • I've been on Loestrin on and off for 5+ years (I've been on the generic, Junel, for 3 or 4 I think). I really like it - I don't get mood swings and I have really light, short periods even though there are 7 days of placebos. It didn't up my sex drive but it never made it lower like I've heard about other BCP's. I get the generic brand for $15 a month.

You don't have to take all 7 placebos unless you are stuck on starting the pack a certain day.  I take 3 packs then come off for 5 days then start a new pack and go 3 months. This is per doctors ok.
