Gator Girls!

We are heading up to Gainesville this weekend with a group of friends for homecoming will any of you be there? We plan on going out tonight for dinner/drinks and maybe Gator Growl, any suggestions? :-)

Have fun!  I haven't gone up for a homecoming in a few years.  We already went to 2 games this year though and I think we are done for the season especially since I've been feeling so crappy. 

Did you guys get tix for Gator Growl?  I forget who is headlining this year but I remember it was someone pretty funny.  I think Goo Goo Dolls are the band though and I thought that was kind of random since they haven't come out with anything good in awhile so most college kids probably could care less about them.

There are lots of good restaurants for dinner.. Bistro1245 is close to campus and good for a girls dinner.  A lot of people love Dragonfly which is downtown.  I used to love Harry's in downtown but I'm not sure if it's still there.  For the full experience though, I would do dinner and drinks at the Swamp if you can squeeze in there.  It's right across from the stadium and the food is good and it's basically just a UF institution.  Copper Monkey is good too, it's right upstairs.  Wherever you go is going to be packed though so be prepared.  It's not like USF games where Tampa is such a big city so it doesn't really affect it.  Gville is small so everything revolved around UF.

Thanks for all the good tips Shawna! We didn't get tickets for Gator Growl and they are $25 plus tax, etc so we might just skip that(esp. bc Goo Goo Dolls? Odd haha!) and go to get dinner and drinks at the Swamp bc our friends want to go to there I think. We're staying about a mile away from campus at a hotel so we will probably take a cab out tonight to make it easier. Thanks again!

Joel McHale!  You should definitely go to Gator Growl...it's always pretty great.  I also love the Swamp for dinner and/or drinks.  Dragonfly has ah-mazing sushi!  And I love 706 on University between midtown and downtown.

Swamp is where everyone goes when back in town.  I love it but it gets insanely crowded!  I think gator city still does 80s night.  Downtown...Lillian's and dirty nellyies
