When did you all take your little ones to the dentist? I just read that is should be around one year old but I had never thought if doing it so early. When did you take your little ones for the first time? Thanks!

Re: First dentist visit??
I just took M, she's 22 months. I had asked my pedi..and he said anywhere between 18 months and 2 years is appropriate...just be sure they are kind of out of the really severe "stranger danger" phase...
We did a lap to lap exam, and M screamed the whole time, but she recovered (calmed down) within 30 seconds and left laughing and smiling.
love is for every her, love is for every him, love is for everyone
We waited until after E's 3rd Birthday. She watched me get mine cleaned and them hopped in the chair for her cleaning. She did great!
I asked my dentist at my last visit (October I think). He suggested that we bring DS to my visit when DS is about 2, so he can watch mommy. Then bring him when he's 2.5 or 3.
I plan to ask pedi about it at the next well-check (15 month), but I trust our dentist's opinion, and since he's the one that will be taking care of DS from that perspective, we'll probably follow his advice.
Owen went at 2 years per doctor recommendation. When we took Owen to the dentist a couple of weeks ago they asked if I wanted to schedule appointments for both of them in April (14 months). The look I gave her must have said "WTF" because she giggled and said they just like to make sure everything is coming in nicely, get a baseline, and start getting them used to going in. So my baby has an appointment in April.
ETA: they see a pediatric dentist. I do not! :-)
