Next month I'm going to Prague for the first time since we moved two years ago and I am insanely excited about it. H will be in Vienna for a work conference and is meeting me there, so I'll have an entire day by myself before he gets there. We'll be meeting friends for dinner and a piss up later on, so I'm not sure if spending my day in the Christmas markets sucking down svar?k is the best of ideas.
Any ideas of random, off the beaten path things to do by myself? I've lived there for an aggregate period of three years, so I've already seen most of the city. Have you ever done (or heard about) a tour of the underground passages beneath the Old Town? http://www.prague-information.eu/168 Any idea if it's worth it?
Part of me is thinking I should just have a slow day and wander around the old neighborhood to see if anything has changed.
Re: Stever, snowyowl -- Prague
My aggregate living time there was about the same as yours, but that was between '92 and '97
I reckon wandering around your old hood would be nice. Or check out Vysehrad or a cool group of panelaky in the snow. As far as staying central I reckon a coffee or beer along Na Kampe(in Malostrana near the Vltava) would be gorgeous at Christmastime - but I really have know idea since I was never there then. Also a trip to the Eiffel Tower thing if it's snowing.
Sorry I'm not much help but I'm sure snowyowl will have a ton of suggestions.
I'm jealous! Have fun!
