I have a question for anyone who knows/has experience with this:
My student visa expires Jan. 1 (just finished my masters). I'm spending xmas at home and leaving Dec. 14, to return Jan. 4 after my visa has expired. I will not be staying in London except for a week or so to bring more stuff back with me to the States. Will this look suspicious or be a problem so soon after my visa expired?
My FI is British and will continue living in London until our April wedding, I will go back to Chicago where I can actually work/get a job until the wedding. I don't think it is worth the time/$ to apply for a partner or post-study visa since we are getting married relatively soon and I don't have a job here to make it worth while.
Re: Re-entering UK after visa expires
If I'm reading Tofu's response correctly, it looks like you're a go.
I'd carry proof of the return flight home when entering the UK, in case they're suspicious.
Agreed that you should def-o carry proof of the return flight.
Excellent, thank you all for the link. I've watched to many episodes of those border patrol shows here not to be a little paranoid ;-)
