What a difference a gallon makes
I just finished transforming our 1/2 bath from a lemon yellow nightmare into a soothing blue room that I'd be happy to pee in 
And I'm going to be a tease, because the camera battery died. You'll have to see pictures later.
DD is napping upstairs so I have to put that bathroom on hold for now. I might start tackling the dining room while I wait. Thank you, 40% off Sherwin-Williams!

Hooray! My 1/2 bath sounds similar to yours. The previous owner painted the entire bathroom (& I mean entire) school bus yellow. Besides the walls, she painted the trim, ceiling, window trim & back of the door ... That lovely yellow.
Its now a pretty greenish/blue. Much much better.
