Hi, I am from Canada so it might be different for me in what I can access but can anyone tell me what the difference is between them? I was thinking about getting one but with all the different types out there and the price difference I was wondering what would be better. I have a blackberry storm phone and am not impressed with it. Many updates that take awhile and then change things on my phone. I may not know how to do everything on my phone but I would like something with a bigger screen to search the internet and email...It seems that the Ipad has neat apps but I don't know much about the other tablets out there for what apps they offer. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Re: Ipad vs blackberry playbook vs android tablets?
I love my Toshiba Thrive- It has USB so I can download from my thumb drive, hook up to a printer, et . I dont believe other tablets offerthat feature.
I cant say enough about how much I love mine
You can use Air Print for printing from an iPad, as well as iCloud for wireless document sharing.
I love the iPad for the apps available, the graphics, and the overall design thought/innovation that was put into it. One of the smoothest UX's out there.
Do you not read books on your iPad? There are a couple apps that let you download books as well as read books you've downloaded on your PC. There is even a Kindle app on iPad but Stanza is my favorite e-reader app.
The Kindle Fire has a different OS than the iPad... looks like you can only run apps from the Amazon Appstore which is supported by Android.
OP, here is a good article on comparing the different tablets and e-readers out there: http://reviews.cnet.com/tablet-buying-guide/?tag=auxPromo
Personally I'd go Android. Blackberry is practically obsolete these days. iPad is good but if you do a lot of Flash-based things online you're SOL with an iPad because they don't suppot Flash.
If you get a Android though make sure you get on that has access to the Android market (not all Android devices do) for the greatest access to apps.
