As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

Hey Ladies - Just wanted to say HI!
I've been M-I-A for a while. Work has been insanely busy and demanding and then I got claubered with that rediculous Northeast snow storm last weekend.
Power went out last Saturday at 3:15.... DH wasn't even home yet - as we had split up that morning to go run storm errands....... The storm was like nothing I"ve ever seen. Every 5 minutes you'd hear another tree snap and/or fall to the ground. The damage and destruction where I live has been hard to wrap your arms around. I swear to god there was tornadic activity.
We did not get out power back until last night at 9:15., Last week was probably the worst physical thing I ever lived through. We have a well, so no power means no water and that combined with the FREEZING temps meant that we had to go elsewhere. We were fortunate enough to have nice friends, and some with generators etc. but I honestly thought the nightmare would never end. Needless to say DH and I will be purchasing a generator over the next few months.
