Re: has anyone ever been to burlington...

  • My family lives in Burlington - love love love it!

Church street is a must.. it is a pedestrian avenue that has lots of shops, cafes, vendors, etc.

The winter market just opened - http://www.burlingtonfarmersmarket.org/
I love the vendors and sampling all the good food :)

The waterfront area is nice to walk along as well, you can rent bikes to go along the bike path.

I don't actually eat out much in B-ton because we stay at family's place, but there is Asiana Noodle Shop on Church street, if you like asian/thai/korean type foods.  We also went to a nice Korean place, I can't remember the name (Naru maybe), I can find out if you are into Korean food.

I'll keep thinking on it.. plus i can ask my family... when are you going?  Are you into outdoor stuff?  There is a lot of hiking, like camel's hump.

  • We are going in either January or February....just for a weekend....The only thing we said we really want to do is the brewery tour...hes big into snowmobiling but we are both pretty open minded.
  • We stayed for a week in St Johnsbury on a lake, but drove into Burlington for the day and loved just walking around all of the shops. We ate lunch at the Vermont Pub and Brewery and it was excellent- great beer too.

We also went to Champlain Chocolate but missed the tour. We would like to go back and stay longer at some point.

Totally unrelated, but we found a doggy daycare there to drop off our dog for the day (she was staying at the lake with us), and they had a huge van pull in while we were there with all these dogs seat-belted in- they actually provide pick up and drop off for your dog- it was hysterical.
