Passed my PhD Qualifier
I'm officially a PhD student. For my program, we have to come up with an open ended question and develop a solution to the problem. My oral defense was today so I was super nervous all weekend. But it's over! My adviser said I did a good job thinking on my feet for the Q&A session.
On another positive note, the Hawkeyes came through and beat Michigan this weekend!

And, yes, it was a good game. It would be nice to get a couple more wins to get into a good bowl game.
My dissertation will be on damage to femoral head implants. I've been working on a 5-year grant that started when on got here. So hopefully I'll finish before the grant money runs out!
