@ a truly incredible birth story from my BMB

This is really amazing and I just had to share.  I'm inclined to believe it--the poster is a regular on the board, she didn't just come out of nowhere, she has been on since the beginning.  Just wow.

  • Wow, that is crazy. I don't know how I would have handled that situation. I'm glad mom and baby are well.

  • Wow! I believe her too! I had a natural birth, not planned. I would have gladly taken the epidural but Cole came too fast. When she said she felt the sensation to push, I remembered that from my experience. Its amazing how your instincts take over. Congrats to her and her new bundle of joy!

  • Crazy! There was an unplanned lightning home birth on my board, too, and it was definitely real. She's still a regular and used to be a doula, actually. She wasn't alone, though. Her DH was there and the EMTs I think made it in time to catch. Crazy how fast 2nd births can go!

  • wow.  She's brave!  I hope I could handle myself as well as she did if that were to ever happen to me.  ::knocks on wood::
  • Eeek! A friend of mine had her third in 4 hours, only 5 minutes after getting to the hospital. But she knew she would be quick, nad didn't waste time sending DH out with her others. (I think her mother was on site, because she knew there wouldn't be time.) I cannot imagine.

  • Love it!!  I would take that story over my 25 hour labor any day.  Although, having my DH there would be preferable.

  • I've never had a baby so I could be wrong, but I thought you were supposed to head to the hospital if contractions were under 5 minutes? Why would her DH leave her alone if she was contracting every 2-5 minutes?

That is amazing though. I would have freaked out if I was in that situation!

  • risa, I called the hospital when my ctx were less than 5 min apart and they told me to stay home because the ctx themselves were not long enough, and I could still talk through them. I also had some braxton hicks that were close together but stopped if I changed position. So it's not just the timing! Of course, I have ridic long labors. All of my mother's labors were 4 hours, and I was hoping I would inherit that, but no?.
