I see the pin going around on Pinterest and it made me wonder...do you all "do" stockings? Did you growing up? My mom did them for us growing up, and they were always our favorite thing. Poor woman keeps thinking she can give them up but we tell her she has to keep doing them! We don't get anything major, just fun little things (batteries; film, back in the day; always Almond Roca, yum; chapstick etc.)
Brians family doesn't do them. My mom got DH and BIL thier own stockings so she fills it for them, but DHs family has never done them. They're missing out!
What about you?
Re: stocking stuffers
We do them!! DH's family doesn't though.
Growing up we found things like candy, a small toy, chapstick or play makeup, lotto tickets (when we were old enough).
We usually found them at the foot of our bed in the morning (from Santa). I'm pretty sure it was my mom's way of keeping us in bed longer!!
We still do them, JT and I do them for each other, JT's mom does them for us, even me and my BIL (is that what I call my SIL's husband?), she says she'll stop when we have kids and do them for the grandkids. JT's grandmother does a goodie bag for us, a kitchen utensil, dish clothes, candy and nuts.
JT really hates doing them for me but I love it so he does it. My parents still do them for each other. We do similar things to what you did Mary and of course the orange in the toe of the stocking. I also gets the pets gifts too but I'm crazy.

I sent it to DH as ideas as well!
Yes, we do stocking stuffers. Actually, they are from "santa" on DH's family
This year we have decided to do stocking stuffers for the adults to a certain dollar amount. This should be fun!
Santa still brings me a stocking to my parents house. My momma told me that as long as I believe, Santa will keep bringing me a stocking
But yes, I'll be doing stockings with FF and Brody. I can't wait!
My parents did stockings for us until last year. When my brother and I were little a woman made us special stockings. When my brother got married my mom found the woman who made our stockings and made one for my SIL. Once I got married my mom found the woman once again and she made H a stocking so each of us had one. THis past year H received his stocking (it's takes a while to make b/c they are hand made by an old woman) and she said it was the last year she was going to do stockings. We were allowed to take our stockings home with us.
H and I don't really do them. We usually buy a big "together" gift. We've talked about doing smaller gifts this year but we'll see what happens. We might go to NY for our "together"gift.

I always got a stocking growing up. About until I graduated college and then Santa stopped bringing them to my parents' house. Matt and I have always done stockings for each other. It's our favorite part. We usually put in the normal lotion, toothbrush, handsanitizer, etc. Plus, iTunes gift cards, specialty candy (we have some great local shops here), little gadgets, DVDs/CDs, etc. I just bought DH a book with a 50% B&N coupon that I plan to put in his this year. Anything that will fit! One year I bought him and iPod and I put it in the stocking. He's put jewelry in mine. We will definitely do them for kids.
Oh, and last year I finally bought some nice, personalized stocking for us. I love love love them. I actually think I found exactly what I was looking for at WalMart, of all places.

As kids we always had stockings. We got little odds and ends in them.
Andrew, Suri, and I still do stockings. They're fun! Our first Xmas together Andrew put an engagement ring in mine.
Last year he put a razor...nice right? He knows I hate shaving. LOL. I usually put candy and little odds and ends in Suri's and Andrew's.

My mom always did stockings for us when we were growing up and continued until we moved out. Over the years the items obviously changed, but it was always small things.
DH and I didn't do stockings the first year we were married and in the apartment. Afterwards he said he was disappointed we didn't do it (even though he never said he wanted to prior to Christmas). We've done them the last 2 years. I usually get ~7-10 things for him.
