Sobbing baby while sleeping?

That's pretty much the gist of it - both of the girls independently sob occasionally in their sleep.  Has anyone else's baby(ies) done this?  I read that it could be related to developmental milestones, but IDK.

  • I have never noticed Lila doing that.

  • Sometimes Bean will wake up in the middle of the night and scream for a minute or two and go back down. We try not to go get her unless she is really upset - usually we can tell by the type of cry what's going on.

Lila does this once and a while. I think its gas.

Ha! Yeah, when Bean was Lila's age most of her midnight wake-ups were gas related. I think it's a mix of that and nightmares now. They seem to be pretty routine.

It was pretty sad the first few nights it happened. Now it's kind of cute. We hear the initial cry and then she kisses all her animals goodnight and goes back to sleep, lol.

Awe! Lila is a monster to her stuffed animals. I put her Easter bunny in her crib today and she lunged at it and then tossed it out of her crib. "Daddy" was right when he said that she would be born a trained assassin. lol

  • Zoe does this every once in a while. The last time was when she was cutting her first tooth. She always goes right back to sleep.

  • LOL@ trained assassin.
  • Well, it's not really crying though - maybe a bad dream, but not terrors?  It's like a soft sighing/sobbing noise - not actually crying.  I'll ask the pedi at their 6 mth appointment.
  • My niece had night terrors for about a year. it was insane - but she was 3 when it was happening. She would "wake up" screaming & crying for hours. .. this was around the time I moved home and lived with my mom..which is also where my niece & sister lived. fun times had by all.

obviously i have no experience other than that - but i hope your girls grow out of it quickly.
