- Just amazed.

Re: OL Tuesday

  • Deepthi,

    I saw that. I think that's crazy!

    Dear weather,

Though I am glad we are finally getting rain, I am annoyed that I had to stop and get gas and got pretty soaked.  That is not fun!

    Dear nesties,

I am glad I got my new phone so I can actually be on here more!

  • I have to admit it is really upsetting to me that the Duggar's are having another child. The last child was born severely premature due to problems caused indirectly by Michelle's advanced maternal age. Michelle also suffered high blood pressure and nearly died last time. She is 45 years old. I can't believe they are even willing to take this chance.

I know they say it is the Lord's will but will it also be his will if they have another premature baby or if something happens to Michelle?

I have to go read three sample research papers and grade them for class. Lame. I'll be back.

  • Dear Nesties-

Yup. I saw that too, that the Duggars are preggers with #20. I enjoy their show, and enjoy learning about their beliefs, but ummm...you go girl? LOL. I dont know if any of you watch Quints By Suprise, but they're coming back on tonight, and I'm so excited. :)

    Dear Hubby-

Thanks for leaving that sweet note on the fridge. It made my day. I love you. :)

  • Dear Deepthi,

We are Nesties.  Get with the program.  ;-)

    Dear Nesties,

I still really love Bruno Mars.  A lot.  Not just the songs he sings, but the songs he writes for others... and his voice.  *Swoon*

    Dear Whoever,

I kind of think that Conrad Murray got a crappy deal.   Horrible malpractice and negligence for sure, but manslaughter?  I just don't know.

Seems kind of sucky that we let probable child murders run free, but convict a doctor who was doing his job (albeit, not well).  Don't doctors inadvertently hurt/kill people every day?  They aren't charged with manslaughter.

This is where I stand with it too. I think it's great they want to have as many kids as possible, but if something happens to Michelle who will step in. Their dad is barely around because he has to finanically support the family. Plus, Josie had so many problems and they think it was nothing. I just pray they have a happy healthy pregnancy.

  • ARGH! Had to come back for this one:

Dear "thankful" person on Facebook -

Nice job getting the brag in your "I'm thankful for..." post. "I'm thankful for being a size 4." This says an absolute ton about you as a person.

  • Re: Duggars... I've always held the belief that if a family has enough money, love, and time to properly raise and equally support that many kids, then more power to them. But I wonder if they WOULD have the means to support all those kids if they weren't on reality TV, and then again, if it's good for the kids to be essentially raised by each other. At least they seem to be happy and well-adjusted... so far.

    Dear Nesties,

I'm asking for T&Ps today & tomorrow. We were supposed to have 1-2 weeks notice before the home study portion of finalizing Mack's adoption of Jack... we heard last night that the home study will be tomorrow. We have a TON of stuff to get ready, because it'll be a 6-9 hour process where they interview us about our entire lives, our vices, our finances, our sex life, our family history, our goals... as well as observing us parenting and evaluating our living situation. It seems so insane to me that this is all necessary for an uncontested step-parent adoption where the child is already living (and essentially has ALWAYS lived) in the home with the people being evaluated. So I'm pretty stressed out. Mostly, I'm just ready for this to be over and for Jack to be legally Mack's son.

I won't be around at all tomorrow, and not much today, but I appreciate all the prayers, support, & ju-ju y'all can send my way.

    Thanks girlies!

  • Dear Deepthi,

Ugh, #20?!?  Really? I agree with you and Leslie, this seems like a bad idea after all the issues with the last one.

    Dear Chelsea,

Good home study ju-ju your way.  I know you guys will do well BECAUSE Jack has lived with the both of you raising him.  (But it does seem like a lot of work for they type of adoption you are going through.)

    Dear Nesties,

I'm on a bus with wifi, that my company provides from San Fran to the office.  how cool is that?!?  The commuters here get to use this every day.  I'm alittle jealous.

  • Dear OMHs,

I was watching TLC last night when they said the Duggars would be announcing a surprise this morning.  They have 19 kids.  Why would a 20th kid be a surprise?  Also, I completely agree with Leslie on this issue.

    Chelsea,

    Good Luck!

     - Me

  • Dear Jim Bob Duggar -

"We didn't want to stop on an odd number." is absolutely not a reason to have another child. I can't believe you would even say this.

    - Still fired up about the Duggars and not reading any papers for class Leslie

  • Leslie - I agree 100% about the Duggars... I am amazed they are having this many children.  It seems wreckless and unsafe, considering how bad #19 went.  Someone on my FB said "I would hate to be around when she sneezes".. and seriously.  It's funny, but it's a legitimate concern at this point!

PS - To your "thankful" friend on FB... you're a better woman than I, because I'd be all.over.that.in.a.hot.minute.

Dear Chelsea - Positive vibes your way... I'm sure it will go wonderfully!

  • Chelsea - Best of luck!

Tiffany - I know.. I'll try to watch it. I called DH boyfriend the other day. All the titles mess with me.

I didn't realize the facebook trend until you guys just said it. Wow I'm slow right now. DH and I pretty much had this conversation last night. It was great to just think about our lives and how foolish I am being for being so upset.

  • Dear Stephanie Meyer - I thought the last Twilight book was absolutely terrible. Like seriously, the worst. Why, oh why then am I still lining your pockets by going to see the new movie in the theater? - Leslie

  • Dear Chelsea

Sending good luck and positive vibes your way!

    Nesties -

I was a little surprised that the Duggars announcement was another child just because of the issues and scares they dealt with during the last pregnancy.  I thought it was going to be another grand kid or that one of the other kids was getting married.

I've never read any of the books and I've never seen any of the movies.

  • Leslie,

I read the books but only saw the first two movies. I don't know if I will even see the other movies. I'm just undecided :-/

I read all four books, loved them all (even when I can't critically say they were "good literature"), and I am STOKED for "Breaking Dawn". It's good fun that reminds me of being a teenager, and I thoroughly enjoy it.

Also, more importantly, thank you ladies SO much for your support. :)

I've never read any of the books and I've never seen any of the movies.

I picked them up because the third one came out the week HP7 was released. I was reeling as I had no series to read anymore and "they" said Twilight was something you would like if you liked HP.

No disrepect to any Twihards, but I thought they were so poorly written it was amazing she was able to sell them. The last one seriously made me want to write her requesting a refund. Maybe it's because I am not 16 anymore but I don't even know if that is true because a large number of the fans are women in their 40's.

That being said I am going to see the movie with some girlfriends and I did buy all the books so I am a hypocrite. I just don't understand why I can't look away!!!

ETA: Chelsea - I too find myself excited for the movie...not really for the movie though more for the experience of going with my girlfriends and being the only people at the midnight showing allowed to drink martinis. LOL!

  • Dear Nesties... I am a little worthless this morning.  I rolled into work at 9.10... I think I'm supposed to be here around 8.30-9.  Oops.  I just couldn't get out of bed this morning... even Crispin tried to make me get up on time, and I made him lay back down with me a little longer.  Also, I have roast in the crock pot for tonight, and I hope it's good... the last couple I've done have just been so-so, so I'm hoping this one is delicious.

Dear dermatologist's office.... I know I should have cancelled yesterday instead of coming in, because I knew I didn't need another shot in my scar.  However, I came anyway, and I'm a little annoyed that I had to pay my $40 copay for 4 minutes of of the nurse's time, and 30 seconds with the doctor.  That's a bit ridiculous.

    ~Angie

  • Re: Duggars. Ok, I admit I'm kind of addicted to their show, and I'm not surprised about baby #20. I don't see why NFP would be such a bad idea for them at this point. I have to say, I'm curious to see what happens when one (or more) inevitably rebels. I've got my money on Jinger for that. Also, I kind of think the Sister Wives family is less crazy in a lot of ways than the Duggars.

Chelsea, the home study seems like overkill to me, but I'm sure y'all will come through with flying colors!

  • Leslie-  I got distracted yesterday, but better late than never.  CONGRATS on the exciting school news!  What an amazing opportunity.

    Dear Friday-

Thank you for being Veterans Day!  A four day week is just what I need!

My MIL gave me a recipe for a polynesian pot roast and now it's the only one we eat. It's still standard meat, potatoes, carrots but with the sauces you add in it is different/more interesting than standard pot roast. Let me know if you are interested and I will post the recipe.

    This.

I actually thought it was stupid and had no desire to read them at first.  Then my roommate bought the 1st movie for her daughters and we had a movie night one night.  I fully expected to fall asleep in it.  I watched the whole thing and read all 4 books in about a month.  I then went to see the 2nd one in theaters and the 3rd one was opening night, with DH.  I will be going to see the 4th one and my 62 yr old coworker and I will be talking about it.  I'm going with DH, my neighbor and her 14 yr old daughter.  We haven't decided on the day yet but it will be opening weekend, not opening night.  I have also re-read Breaking Dawn just to make sure I remember evreything.  I'm not a Twihard or anything but I do enjoy them and they make me remember high school.

  • Leslie,

While I thought they were poorly written too, I read all of them. I caught the movies on tv rather then see them on the big screen or even rent them. Granted I kind of want to see this next movie in the theatre just to see how they work it out. I thought the first movie was absolutely horrible. I also think books no matter how good or bad are an escape for a lot of people and this book allowed them to do that.

  • Forgot...

Chelsea, lots of ju-ju your way.  Good luck.

Leslie, I also didn't get to say congrats yesterday.  Congrats

Rain, I love that you are here and I would like you to stay for a while!

DH, thanks for being so awesome these last few days.  I know I've been emotional and you just letting me be and holding me while I cry is just what I need.  Thanks

Childbirth class, you really should warn someone you are going to be showing a live birth in class.  I know I'm about to go through that but I don't want to see how it is going to happen.  I'd rather not know.  I seriously was the teenager in the room that closed my eyes and made a face.
