I have a job question too.

I know it seems to be taking a long time for most people to find jobs right now.  Since I want to look, but don't really want to start until the new year.....would you go ahead and start putting apps out?  Should I put a note on the cover letter that I'm about to have a baby and would not be able to start until January or is that not necessary?  I've never really been actively seeking a job.  I've had 3 jobs in my life....they all kind of fell in my lap.  I've only interviewed for 2, but both were with people I already knew and were just a formality.  So, I feel a little lost.

Re: I have a job question too.

  • I don't know what the best thing to in this situation is and hopefully Madisen can pitch in, but I would absolutely not put in a cover letter that you're about to have a baby.
  • I wouldn't put that in a cover letter.

Ashlee looked while she was pregnant. I'm sure she has some insight.

Ditto. I feel like you would be inviting all kinds of prejudices against yourself before they even looked at your resume. I'm not sure on the timeframe though. Like LB said, Madisen will probably have some advice.

  • No, do not put that you're pg in a cover letter.  It's irrelevant.
  • I emailed you back.  Let me know if you have more questions and I'll see what I can find.
