s/o Thanksgiving Recipes... care to post any?
I was thinking... why don't we start a Thanksgiving recipes thread? Everyone can post a recipe or two they plan on using... or if not making anything this year, just any recipe that someone might feasibly make for Thanksgiving. Could be useful in giving everyone some ideas. I know I'm always interested in possibly trying new things.

Re: s/o Thanksgiving Recipes... care to post any?
I usually make this at Thanksgiving but not this year. It's a pumpkin gingerbread trifle recipe from Paula Deen (one of her only recipes that does not call for butter)
Ingredients
Directions
Bake the gingerbread according to the package directions; cool completely. Meanwhile, prepare the pudding and set aside to cool. Stir the pumpkin pie filling, sugar, and cardamom into the pudding. Crumble 1 batch of gingerbread into the bottom of a large, pretty bowl. Pour 1/2 of the pudding mixture over the gingerbread, then add a layer of whipped topping. Repeat with the remaining gingerbread, pudding, and whipped topping. Sprinkle of the top with crushed gingersnaps, if desired. Refrigerate overnight. Trifle can be layered in a punch bowl.
I combined a few different stuffing recipes last year and it came out pretty good.
14 oz cornbread stuffing
2 stalks of celery diced
1/2 onion diced
1 green apple diced
1 can of cream of mushroom soup
2 1/3 c. chicken broth
1 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp. black pepper
3 tbsp butter- melted
2 tbsp olive oil
1/2 roll of sage sausage
Brown sausage.
In a separate pan, saute celery with olive oil for five minutes. Add onion and saute for another five minutes. Add browned sausage and saute another few minutes.
Mix mushroom soup, broth, garlic, and pepper in a large bowl. Add onions, celery, and sausage to the mixture. Pour entire mixture into a greased baking dish and bake at 375 degrees for about an hour and 15 minutes or until its browned on top.
Once the stuffing is done, pour melted butter over the top.
This is my only contribution to Thanksgiving (because I can't burn it, over-cook it, or mess it up in any way):
Pink Salad:
1 can crushed pineapple
1 tub Miracle Whip
1 box Strawberry Jello
1 tub cottage cheese
Directions: Mix ingredients, chill, and serve.
This frosting is AMAZING and pretty easy to make!

GOOD GOD. Yeah, my bad. Most people find Pink Salad an "acquired taste" as it is... Could you even imagine? {gag}
