Skincare

Ugggh, I am breaking out like a teenager!  Anyone have a great skincare product or line to recommend?  My skin is pretty dry but lately I feel like I'm 16 again (and not in a good way Tongue Tied)

Re: Skincare

  • Over the counter stuff has never cut it for me. However, seeing a derm regularly has done wonders! I just wash with something gentle like Purpose cleanser and moisturizer with Cerave. Prescription wise, I use Differin (not while pregnant though) and Duac, which is a combo benzoyl peroxide and clindamycin. I have found witch hazel to be a good toner/astringent.

I can sympathize with you! My acne never went away after adolescence. Plus, I have horribly sensitive skin and allergies so it is a constant balancing act.

  • My friend suggested using apple cider vinegar, green tea, and honey. I've only been using it a week but she has been using it for over 3 months and her skin looks great. She uses it twice a day.

  • Honestly, I just use Noxzema once a day in the shower, and I moisturize everyday (face included) with Cetaphyl. I used to use Cerave, but Cetaphyl works better for me and is cheaper... so bonus there.

  • If you have insurance that covers it, go to the dermatologist.  It is worth it.

I recently switched to Aveeno face wash and I really like it.  For breakouts I use Differin gel from the derm.

  • Right now, I am in love with Bliss Spa face cleaner and all of the Boots products (from Target) for moisturizing.  I was having some huge break out issues around my jawline and chin - since I started using Bliss, the breakouts have completely stopped.

  • I'm a huge fan of all the Clinique skincare stuffs.
