DD's 2nd B-day PAW-ty menu help

The theme for our DD's b-day party is dogs so someone had recommended doing a hot dog 'bar'.  Loved the idea but am struggling because I think we should offer something other than just hot dogs.

 So far:

-Hot dog station - chili, cheese, sauerkraut, onions, ketchup, mustard, relish, etc.

-Homemade mac and cheese

-Salad

 -Cake or cupcakes

DH had suggested pulled pork BBQ as well. Thoughts?

Also, any recipes for good chili for hot dogs would be appreciated.

 Thank you!  :)

Re: DD's 2nd B-day PAW-ty menu help

  • How are you doing the dogs? If you've already got the grill out throw on some burgers.  If not BBQ would be good.  I'd probably add a side or two to the menu as well.  Some fruit or pasta salad, maybe some chips and dip even.

For chili dogs we just open a can of Skyline and call it a day.

We are borrowing a hot dog roller from a friend.  More than likey it will be too cold to be cooking outside. :(  Thanks for the suggestions.  Much appreciated.

  • It's never too cold to grill in my world (and I do live in Ohio).  Anyway, you could even do a traditional chili and have cornbread to make the soup a meal.

    Love this.

  • Scooby snacks are brand of graham crackers that are delicious...you could serve those with a dessert cheese ball
