Hello and question about web hosting

Hello all - I haven't been on the nest in awhile, I was married in August 2010 in the DC area.

I am hoping to start a side business as a wedding/event planner.  I have worked for a number of years in corporate event planning.  But my hope is to one day move to exclusively special events and also would love to be my own boss.  Now is a good time for me to start because I have a pretty easy 9-5 job, and feel I can do other work on the side.

My main question is do any of you have your own website - business or personal.  Which hosting company do you use?

I already bought my domain name on godaddy but now I need an affordable, easy to use and customizeable web platform.

 Thanks!

Re: Hello and question about web hosting

  • This may sound strange and completely unrelated, but a lot of the women on What's Cooking? have their own domain names for their blogs, so they might be able to make some recommendations.
  • I use dathorn.com.  I've been with the company for ~8 years now.  They are fantastic.  If I have issues and submit a ticket, I get a response from the owner of the company no less in just a few minutes!  I pay $13.50 a month, but I have 8 domains hosted under that one account.  I can allocate the bandwidth/space any way I want.
