Renter's Insurance

Hey ladies,

 I need some information on renter's insurance. Currently I have LIberty Mutual, but I want to make sure that there's isn't a better/cheaper alternative. Eventually I'd like to get car insurance through the same place as well so any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Back when I rented, I had both my car insurance and renter's insurance with AAA. They did give me a multi-policy discount. It's worth getting a quote, anyway!

I've gone through State Farm for both. Renters was around $13-15/month and when I had a multi-line policy with my auto, my auto insurance was discounted as well.

Mine/ours is through Allstate.  We had a minor glitch with billing when we first signed up, but they've been nothing but helpful and were, by far, the cheapest quote we got.

Mine's through A+ but that's because they do some good things for teachers

We have Farmers for our auto and renters. Renters is about $15/month for us.

I think you're just going to have to call around the get quotes. A couple of years ago, we had renter's insurance through Allstate. They do car insurance though we didn't have it through them. I remember the payment being pretty reasonable.

I work in insurance-many companies do a home/auto discount. One thing to check on is if you have your auto policy written with a future effective date (meaning it doesn't renew until May, but you have the policy for it written now with that start date) You may be able to get the multi-policy discount now.

Also, if I could suggest-I would stay away from Farmers. Just from personal experiences with both a home and auto claims handling perspective.

Yeah, ours is with our car insurance. We have Geico. I think it's about $15/mo, too.
