Did you all talk about Bloomberg's third term approval?

Just curious to hear what everyone thinks?  He won the ability to run for a third term.

My personal opinion is that there should not be term limits for anything, so I think this is a welcome change.

Re: Did you all talk about Bloomberg's third term approval?

  • I don't support term limits either, but I also don't support self serving politicians. CA voters tried to amend our woefully inadequate term limit laws in June but it failed b/c it smacked of a power grab by those in office (which it was, which is why I unfortunately couldn't support it).
  • Ehhhhhh....I'm on the fence about term limits in general.  Though it seems Bloomberg is universally loved, so it seems stupid to have them so that someone who can't run NYC as well as him can get a turn.

I'd probably be up in arms if it were someone I hated.  I realize that makes me a hypocrite.  It's a good thing I don't live in NYC.

Teehee, this is about where I am.  However, the important part to remember is just because the third term is an option, it's still up to the voters to elect him or not.

I'm excited to finally get to vote for him, though! (2001 I still lived in Indiana, and 2005 I voted absentee in Indiana).

  • I wonder if Obama would give him a cabinet job.  Or McCain for that matter.
