Anyone ever work for Intuit?

I'm a CPA working for a regional public accounting firm. However, my mother is a CPA with an established sole proprietor CPA firm, and she makes good money. I'm 98% sure I'm putting my 2 weeks notice in at the end of the month, and joining my mom - i.e. DH and I will put in money & will be owners in the business. That being said, I have applied for a job as a remote Tax Advisor  with Intuit- they offer 401k, medical benefits  & stock options - to supplement my income, as it will take time for me to build my clientele.

Has anyone every worked for Intuit as a TurboTax, Quickbooks, etc. remote advisor? Is it as good as it seems? I'm not relying on this as my only income - just wondering if it is worth it for 30-40 hours per week, as supplemental income?

Re: Anyone ever work for Intuit?

  • I haven't, but have seen the ads and had considered doing the same if I hadn't found my current job. The only thing that I'd be concerned about is the availability you need to commit to- isn't the support 24/7?  I do think it could be worth looking into, especially since you're considering it as a supplement vs. sole source of income.

  • i just interviewed with them and I'm waiting to hear back.

the pay is low for the type of skills they want (JD, CPA, EA). Secretaries make more.

You can pick your hours but basically they want you to do either 30 hours or 40 hours a week.
