Once this past spring a cat came on our balcony (we have a slightly raised balcony and are on the ground floor) and stared in the door, then jumped on the window sill and stared in, and the whole time it was acting really strangely, like kind of out of it. I love cats and wanted to help, but I was pregnant and worried it was sick because of how it was acting. Anyway, a guy came up and asked if I had seen a cat (I was on my balcony) and I said yes and pointed to it. Turns out he lives 2 floors above us and the cat jumped off of his balcony, landing in our yard!
Today I had people over for a meeting about something and all of a sudden we heard this thud and the two sitting on the sofa with a view outside said, "Um, something just fell down in your yard." I said, "Oh, once it was actually a cat!" I looked and saw a cat in our yard!! A different one! I decided I'd better go up and get the guy, but he was already on his way down the stairs. I went out with him and helped him catch the cat, but seriously dude, get some sort of protection up there to keep your cats from falling down! I'm really worried one of them is going to hurt itself badly and I'm going to find it all limping and mewling. :-(

2. Do German cats also have nine lives? These cats seem like they may need a few extra.
3. I'm glad that the owner is aware when one of his pets goes missing, but an ounce of prevention might be helpful--and less traumatic for the cats.
