It was actually really fun and impressive, and I'm not a HP fan. I had M give me a quick run-down of who was who, what was what, and the plot. He was not prepared for such a synopsis, but he did a nice job. Then he shunned me for not having read the books.
Kim is right. The HP part of IofA is really small. Three rides, some shops and butterbeer stands. OMG the butterbeer is to die for, but I had to stop after 1/2 cup. It was really heavy and sweet.
I was a little bummed that they revamped one ride to be "HP," but I still like the ride, so it was fun. Felt they kinda gave that part of it a "fuckeffort," but I guess there's only so much time/space/money to put into it.
The main HP... school (?) is amazing. You can tell the detail that went into that thing was just insane. Impressive inside and out, and the ride is really fun. We rode it 3x, even with the longish waits.
In all, I highly recommend. Esp. if you are a HP fan.
Re: Since it is slow... Harry Potter World Review
Glad you liked it Nicole! And you are right, if you enjoyed it, you can only imagine how much an HP fan loves it. The ride in Hogwarts is the coolest thing I've ever seen. Did they not have the short line going? When I was there you could bypass the long wait (which I recommend on the first time through because the attention to detail is amazing) and it cut the time in line by more than 1/2. I'm going back in less than 2 weeks and I can't wait.
Which type of butterbeer did you have? I liked the frozen better, but you're right, it is super sweet.
I've heard rumors they are planning on expanding, we shall see if that actually happens.

We had frozen - there were issues with the non-frozen tap, but the frozen was soooooooooo delicious. Mmmm butterbeer.
I think there was a short line for single riders, but we wanted to go together. Esp. since I didn't know what was what and needed it all explained. As the day went on, the line was much shorter/quicker and that helped.
I think they SHOULD expand if they can. The amount of money they could make would be ridiculous.
My sister's insane jealousy over us going means she's getting tickets for Christmas. Mom said she'd pair up with me and get her a hotel in Orlando for the occasion. So easy.
Glad to hear you liked it so much! My H is a big fan and is dying to go. I've seen all the movies but haven't read the books. Hopefully we'll get there eventually.
I'm intrigued by butterbeer.

True story.
My silly Lily is almost 4.
I've been twice so far last spring right after it opened.. i chaperoned 2 field trips over there.
Both times I got SOOO sick on the ride. I got sick the first time just a little so the next time I went to IA I tried again, and that time I was so sick.
Sadly I actually live in Orlando and still haven't been to Harry Potter world yet. I'm dying to go but I just can't seem to find the time. It's my mission however to get there next month and I can't wait!
