Relocation tips (Wallingford)

My husband is hoping to get a job in Wallingford. I have never been to Connecticut and was hoping to get a little insider thoughts on the area. Thanks in advance!!

Re: Relocation tips (Wallingford)

  • I live closer to Stamford, but Wallingford is a pretty central location in the state. You're less than an hour from Hartford, New Haven, Mystic and the casinos, and a relatively short drive from NYC, Providence and Boston.

I don't know much about the town itself, I've only driven through, but it's easy access to the main highways that go through the state.

    Good luck!

  • Lots of restaurants & stores in/around Wallingford, and it's a nice town. As with most towns, there are some "not-so-great" areas, but for the most part, it's beautiful! I live closeby, but am in Wallingford a lot--I wish I lived there!

  • I am relocating to the Wallingford area. My FI is from CT, and I was fortunate to find a job in Wallingford. We are actually buying a house in Southington. PM me- I am curious if your hubby and I are going to the same company :) Oh, and I don't know anyone there, but I like Southington because it has everything you need including a Target, some nicer restaurants, the bike trail, a ski mountain, and my FI's parents ;) It's also an easy commute to Wallingford.

  • I really like Wallingford :) It's got a decent school system, is close to shopping, has a cute down town area and has some "rural" (I use quotes b/c most of CT isn't really rural) areas, too. I don't think there's a "bad" section, but certain sections are more desirable than others, if that makes sense.
  • I grew up in Wallingford and it?s a great town. There are a lot of stores and restaurants. The school system is really good, too. Feel free to PM me with any questions you might have. GL with the move!
