I just called and got connected with a counselor who is going to connect me to a counselor that I can talk to face to face. Well....the lady on the phone sounded like a little old lady. She asked me what my husband thought about my weight gain and after me telling her about the lack of sexual desire she started tripping over her words...it was like she couldn't talk. Then she starts talking to me about Weight Watchers. Is this what a counselor does?
Re: Funny story about EAP
I just had to laugh at her. She is going to help me find a counselor, but I hope that the new lady or man isn't concerned with the words "sexual desire" lol. She totally sided with him (which is fine, because in a way he is right) It was basically like this:
Her: What does husband think
Me: Well he doesn't want to have sex with me any more.
Her: Um, well, you know, yeah, um, you know right, um, yeah. That is very. Wow, um. Well a women's duty is to be a hot ass little trophy wife. Um yeah.
Me: Well I agree I guess, but there are other issues too.
Her: Well weight watchers is fantastic. It's the number one diet plan, and it teaches you how to eat forever.
Me: Well I'm not really sure, I like to have sex with animals....
Her: Well Weight watchers is fantastic!
Me: Well I have tried lots of weight loss programs and nothing really worked
Her: Well they are all yo yo diets that will make you eat your first born child....
Yeah basically that was it.
LOL Yeah, someone did not want to talk about S-E-X. Not a very good proffession for her to be in...
FWIW, WW did not work for me. So she can suck it
If you are seriously looking for a reccommendation, pick up the book Breaking Free from Emotional Eating. It was reccommended to be by my counselor and is fantastic. No more dieting, it is about learning to eat when you are actually hungry instead of using food as a crutch.
I will look into that. I guess I'm not sure if I am an emotional eater though. Is boredom an emotion....I tend to graze when I am bored.
It was actually formerly titled 'Breaking Free from Compulsive Eating" which describes me more than emotional, but I think it is a good read for ANYONE trying to lose weight.
Read the reviews and just see if it might be helpful.

(I normally don't pimp out books, but this one really is worth it)
Thanks I am just leaving work so i will take a look a little later.
