Have you ever had Tres Leches Cake?

I was thinking I might try making it, but dont even know what to expect.

What is it like?  Is it good?

I like it, but I know it's not for everyone.  The cake will end up very soft and sweet because of the three milks.  The cake will essentially be wet, with milk soaking through it.  I say make and try it, what do you have to lose?

I tried making one, and though I liked the flavor, I messed up the cake batter itself. I tried making the Emaril one, and messed up the measurements. So it ended up being very dense on the bottom and was textured/flavored like a cake on top and flan below. I liked it, but my husband thought it was horrible.

huh, i've never even heard of it; i had to go look it up. it sounds interesting, but i'm not sure if i'd like it--especially if it got soggy.

of course there's a version of it that uses water, rum, and sugar instead of three milks. now that i bet i'd like!

There is a mexican/salvadorian place that we go to regularly that has tres leche cake. It is so good!!! I've never made it at home - but then again I rarely bake anything aside from slice and bake cookies.

I personally don't like it...possibly because the only milk i will let in my mouth is when I'm eating cereal, but I do know a lot of people that love it.
