We sent a gift to our out of state great aunts and uncles every year. I have sent hickory farms, williams sonoma soap/lotion set, yankee candle sets...and am out of ideas! I usually avoid baked things as the aunts are bakers. We sent to 6 couples and I like to keep it around $40. Any ideas?
TIA!
Re: Gift idea for Couples
Tickets to something in their area, Harry and David pears, wine?
74 books read in 2011
For our NDN's I put together a cookie tin with 1/2 dz of all the stuff I baked (of course you could leave that part out), a $20 GC for a restaurant/bar, a jar of home made jam and a bottle of liquor.
Or maybe send them one of those edible arrangements? Those can get expensive but some of their smaller arrangements may be within the budget.
I think I am going to send a personalized cutting board - found a great deal on etsy - with some cheese and wine. Sound good?
Now I just have to do BIL, 3 SIL's...and IL's...and my parents...sigh.
I have a few standby stylish yet useful gifts when I don't know what else to buy for someone - hopefully it gives you some good ideas:
1. Envirosax 5pk reusable bags - I've given these for weddings, bdays, holidays, etc... and they work great for women or men (just be choosy on the style if you want a guy to use them). Handy and they last for years, plus a couple can split them so they both can use them - usually $39.95 w/free ship (so in your budget), but just got an early black friday deal coupon code for $29.95 yesterday...

2. Gift certificate from www.Restaurant.com they can use at any restaurant in their area if its on the list. Most areas have good coverage, but you might want to check their city first in case they live out in a remote area
3. Car organizers - I have a range of different ones I give, and if for a couple you could buy 2 so they each have one. Everyone can use these, but few people buy them for themselves, so it makes a great gift because nobody has them yet. They hold all of the misc stuff you want to keep in your car, but don't want laying around or floating under the seats (plus safety stuff, too). I usually shop at organize.com or thecontainerstore.com for the ones I buy.
Good luck!
The "night in" package was something I got for my bridal shower - and it was easily the most used thing we got! Great idea!
Anything like that is great. Books can be substituted, or CDs. Are they older? You could get them some vinyl for a blast from the past.
Can't go write with wine, either.
I was going to suggest something similar! I love this idea... movies, popcorn, candy... sounds like a perfect night in to me
