So my family and I are headed to McKinney the first week in December to visit my BIL and his family. We're looking to get a family portrait taken of the 7 of us (4 adults, 3 kids) for my MIL for Christmas, and being from RI I am finding this hard to do.
Do you have any recs of good photographers? I'm looking for something inexpensive (but again not sure what is "inexpensive" in that area compared to RI) and I really just need a cd with the imagines and rights to them so I can have them printed on my own. I don't really want to have something shipped from TX to RI and we're in a time crunch.
Are there any good photo places in a mall down there? Not sure how they would cost in comparison either.. basically- I'm lost!!! I'd prefer a photographer vs. Target portrait, but at this point I'll almost take anything!

Re: From RI - Photographer needed
Give us an idea of a range you would like to keep it in. We will then probably flood you with photographer recs.
Ha, that would be easy if I had any idea!
My husband is the one who mentioned wanting to do it, and he is cheap. I dont think my BIL is going to pay for any of it, so it's all of us.
I don't know.. maybe under $300. I'm not even sure if that is reasonable, or outrageous for what I'm looking for. I don't need many pictures, and I don't care if it is in a studio or at a location. I'd prefer on location, but I'd take either.
This is the blog of my wedding photographer. These are my wedding photos so you have an idea of her work.
She is doing a special the week of Thanksgiving for $100. You might tell her Leslie sent you and see if she will do the special for you that next week. If not, she should still be in your price range with her regular rates.
She is very nice and easy to work with. HTH!
ETA: Her blog also has a good non-wedding selection of her work - check that out too.
In that price range, I refer lots of people for family/children portraiture to Lisa Michelle Photography (www.Lisamichellephotography.com) She's good and inexpensive and professional and sweet and fast. I'm not sure if she's working the week of Thanksgiving or if she'd charge a premium for dates during the holidays, but it's worth a shot.
Best of luck!
Are you wanting them out somewhere or in a studio?
We always use Portrait Innovations for our family photos. We had 12 or 13 people last time and we split them up by family and did some big group photos also. That's why we like using them. We got a cd and the rights and it was done in about an hour or so. We went to lunch and then come back and picked up the cd and few prints we ordered. I think we ended up spending about $180-200 total and just split it all between the siblings. They have locations all over the area so you might be able to find one close to y'all.
I'd prefer an outdoor location, but it does not really matter to me.
Thanks for the recs... keep'em coming!
