Quilting Squares

Do you prefer to cut them out with scissors or a rotary cutter?

I pretty much only cut with a rotary cutter now. It is much more precise.

  • Ditto PP. Rotary cutter is much quicker and precise. They are super sharp, though, so watch the fingers

  • I use my rotary whenever I can, even non-quilting items. If it has a straight edge to the piece, I use my rotary. I rarely use my scissors for cutting fabric anymore. I'd be lost without my rotary cutter.

  • depends how many I have and how big they are. the more smaller ones I have to cut of the same size, the more likely I ma to use the rotary. I don't mind scissors, especially on squares over 4".
  • I use rotary cutter for quilt squares, save the scissors for when you're cutting out a pattern.
