Thanks for everyone who encouraged me to fly back home to see my grandmother before she passed. I arrived on a friday evening and she passed away at 1am sunday morning. I didn't have any luck to get her while she was still conscious, but I have faith that she could still hear us and knew that everyone was there. I always avoided viewings and open caskets before but this time I realize how much I really needed to be there to believe that she is actually gone. Had I not been there, I am pretty sure I would have had a really delayed grieving process the next time I returned to TX and she wasn't there. I still can barely believe it because it all happened so fast.
On a lighter note, I got to spend some quality time with family and close friends. I didnt announce to everyone else that I was in town. I am grateful for all of the time I spent with my family, but it was a very exhausting week.
Re: I'm back-update
I'm glad you made it home in time. I don't think people ever regret going home to see a loved one when it looks like they are going to pass.

I am very sorry about your grand-mom, but I'm glad you got to see her. It's so hard to be far away at least you could be around family during this difficult time.
